Sounds like a nice relaxing day @Shaz51

I love finding old photos, so much history in them.

Glad you found them

Few good things. Lots of local produce which is always nice to get. Lots of things for kids too.

Thank you @MissGremlin my friend, I’m just venting about it to ChatGPT for the moment ❤️🌿 but yeah it definitely was uncomfortable and a confusing experience.

We do have a little local market every 4th Sat @Shaz51 but this one was a yearly special market, so bigger than normal and more people than normal. The whole main street was closed for it.

Not much in our town open Sunday either, but today they were.

@Mustang67 thats great to hear that about your daughter getting the highest grade in psychology and that she’s been enjoying it even though it was hard ☺️ she definitely deserves to have such supportive parents like you that are proud of her progress ❤️🌿

yeah, I get the part about her going through things children shouldn’t have to go through. I’m the same and having lived experience is the main reason why I’ve been eager to study psych and hopefully pursue a career in the mental health industry (particularly peer work) for a while.

Is she planning on becoming a psychologist? Like a clinical psych?

@Blackcloud not at this stage. Her career choice change from time to time. Currently she wants to be a Fisherwoman and work on the boats that go far out to sea. She knows she needs to be physically fit and strong to work those boats, so she has started exercising to work towards it. Working on boats runs in her father's side of the family and she loves the sea.

But you never know, as she progresses through the topic, she might find how much she likes it and change her mind. I personally think she would make a great psychologist. And I think people with lived experience make the best ones, as they can understand what people have gone through.

For an English assignment she had to write a short story. And she wrote a story about two children that went sailing by themselves but found themselves in a sudden storm. But her basic point to her story was, that it doesn't matter what you go through, if you have a positive outlook on life and you don't dwell on the bad parts, you can overcome anything. I thought that it was excellent for a 16-year-old.

And last year they gave her an award for her kindness that she shows towards others and in keeping with the school principles.
