I realise how little i mean to people. i mean nothing. its abit like walking down a long dark street never knowing when a light might flick on to show me the way or give me some hope. im tired of trying. tired of hoping. tired of coping. tired of exisiting. tired of breathing. i think im done. dear everyone that knows me, im sorry im such a disapointment. im sorry i cant live up to your expectations. im sorry i was born. im sorry if ive hurt you. im sorry if ive made you miserable. i deserve all the blame and hatred i have gotten. everything is my fault and im sorry. im locked within the walls of my own minds and i just cant escape it. Pain. Pain all the time. It runs through my veins a fast flowing river with nothing there to stop it. Just get over it they say. i wish i could, im living minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. im struggling with memories that haunt me everyday and i dont think they will ever fade. my thoughts are overwhelming and what hurts me the most is when people pretend to care but really they dont. im so scared. things just arent the same anymore. im not doing anything right anymore. ive lsot myself, the person i once knew isnt here anymore. i dont know what to do anymore. i feel like i dont belong here or in reality. no where. i have constant feelings of being unworthy and hopeless, of being a prisioner in my own body. i have so much pain physically and mentally. i try to stay happy. i try to keep smiling. i try to be brave. i try to be stong. i try to act like everything is ok but im far from it. i never know when im going to have a 'good' day and at any minute im triggered and takes such a long time to recover. there are monsters living inside me, attacking me, ripping me apart from the inside. i dont think its ever going to end but its ok "ill just have to get over it" just as expected

Hi @Former-Member
Mindfulness and grounding techniques are really helpful to get you to a point where you can break things down hour by hour.
It's about getting that swirling washing machine to slow down.
Do you have any mindfulness or grounding techniques that have worked in the past?
Do other members have any suggestions on grounding techniques that have worked for them?

Keep riding it out @Former-Member. I know it's hard but if you can try to find anything that gives you comfort at all it might help too. Something like your necklace, a favourite jumper, some comfy pjs, a song, something that smells really good, a poem, a quote, a photo, fluffy socks, soup, something in your favourite colour - anything that even for a moment gives you a slightly different feeling. If you find it then maybe hold on to it for a bit while you ride it out.

Hi @Former-Member, I'm going to be around now until my forum curfew so I will ride the wave with you if you like. I saw that @NikNik was asking for suggestions about grounding. Often when I am riding a wave, I lie prostrate on the carpet in my loungeroom and verbally stim (which is basically making a long continous sound). I find that it super helps. Granted, if I do it in public, people tend to call emergency services on me, but it works super well in the privacy of my own home. I also rock a lot - either sitting up or lying down. I find it calming. Within the last year or so, I've also discovered that focusing on learning something (not important study-type learning, just random stuff learning) seems to draw on a different part of my brain such that the big feelings gradually feel less big. This might fall more under the category of distraction rather than grounding I guess, I'm not sure. However, it has really got me through some dreadful episodes of severe depression in the past year...and as a bonus, I can now recite the Greek alphabet!!! I will ride with you tonight @Former-Member.

Inching your way through sounds perfect @Former-Member. I just read that you're about to start some of your garden again. Looking forward to seeing if you want to tag me if you put something new up. I'm heading for a bath and then a trip to the island I think 🙂
