Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

I realise how little i mean to people. i mean nothing.
its abit like walking down a long dark street never knowing when a light might flick on to show me the way or give me some hope.
im tired of trying. tired of hoping. tired of coping. tired of exisiting. tired of breathing. i think im done.
dear everyone that knows me, im sorry im such a disapointment. im sorry i cant live up to your expectations. im sorry i was born. im sorry if ive hurt you. im sorry if ive made you miserable. i deserve all the blame and hatred i have gotten. everything is my fault and im sorry.
im locked within the walls of my own minds and i just cant escape it.
Pain. Pain all the time. It runs through my veins a fast flowing river with nothing there to stop it.
Just get over it they say. i wish i could, im living minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. im struggling with memories that haunt me everyday and i dont think they will ever fade.
my thoughts are overwhelming and what hurts me the most is when people pretend to care but really they dont.
im so scared. things just arent the same anymore. im not doing anything right anymore. ive lsot myself, the person i once knew isnt here anymore. i dont know what to do anymore. i feel like i dont belong here or in reality. no where. i have constant feelings of being unworthy and hopeless, of being a prisioner in my own body.
i have so much pain physically and mentally. i try to stay happy. i try to keep smiling. i try to be brave. i try to be stong. i try to act like everything is ok but im far from it.
i never know when im going to have a 'good' day and at any minute im triggered and takes such a long time to recover.
there are monsters living inside me, attacking me, ripping me apart from the inside. i dont think its ever going to end
but its ok "ill just have to get over it" just as expected

Deep breaths @Former-Member. Like lisajane said, you can't change how your mum is, you can only control how respond. Is there anyway you might be able to walk away from her when things start to get heated? I find sometimes, even a moment of space to breathe and cool down can make a world of difference to how I feel when I am having a chat (or a heated argument) with someone. It's hard to do but it might be worth trying. It also doesn't change how you're feeling now you've had this blow up. Can you get out for a walk and try to walk it off?

Big hugs 💓

Re: Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

I cant walk away that would make things worse @CheerBear
Shes gone out and left the kids with me while im doing dinner
It doesnt solve any of my problems and if i try to talk to her now itll just blow up again. She prob wont really talk to me now for the next few days.

Its never going to be ok and never is such a long time and i dont know if i want to wait around to see if that happens

oh dear, sounds unfair 😞 Have the kids been on school hollies already?
Take some space for you now. Your mum is home, retreat to your room or go for a walk, you're an adult so you can do what you need to do.
hugs

Re: Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

While you're doing dinner try to focus just on each task that you're doing. i.e. focus on how it feels to peel the potatoes, the temperature of the spoon you're holidng to stir something, the weight of the container that you're lifting, the feeling of the water inthe sink etc. Try to focus just on the thing that you're doing at the moment. Might help to stop that feeling of being overwhelmed by absolutely everything that is going on and slow the thoughts a little bit. You can't do anything about the other stuff right now (as unfair as it is), so focus on breathing and being,
hugs

Its not working for me @Former-Member and when mum comes back all those thoughts etc will be back

Re: Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

i'm about to get my kids ready for bed and do some work @Former-Member but just wanted to say, even though the thoughts etc will come back its important to have mini breaks from it all, even if just for five minutes of mindfully paying attention because it lets you put the worries aside/down for just a moment to catch your breath..
If things are really getting overwhelming though you know the lines to call for support and help, life line etc. Be kind to you and look after yourself,
