Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

I realise how little i mean to people. i mean nothing.
its abit like walking down a long dark street never knowing when a light might flick on to show me the way or give me some hope.
im tired of trying. tired of hoping. tired of coping. tired of exisiting. tired of breathing. i think im done.
dear everyone that knows me, im sorry im such a disapointment. im sorry i cant live up to your expectations. im sorry i was born. im sorry if ive hurt you. im sorry if ive made you miserable. i deserve all the blame and hatred i have gotten. everything is my fault and im sorry.
im locked within the walls of my own minds and i just cant escape it.
Pain. Pain all the time. It runs through my veins a fast flowing river with nothing there to stop it.
Just get over it they say. i wish i could, im living minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. im struggling with memories that haunt me everyday and i dont think they will ever fade.
my thoughts are overwhelming and what hurts me the most is when people pretend to care but really they dont.
im so scared. things just arent the same anymore. im not doing anything right anymore. ive lsot myself, the person i once knew isnt here anymore. i dont know what to do anymore. i feel like i dont belong here or in reality. no where. i have constant feelings of being unworthy and hopeless, of being a prisioner in my own body.
i have so much pain physically and mentally. i try to stay happy. i try to keep smiling. i try to be brave. i try to be stong. i try to act like everything is ok but im far from it.
i never know when im going to have a 'good' day and at any minute im triggered and takes such a long time to recover.
there are monsters living inside me, attacking me, ripping me apart from the inside. i dont think its ever going to end
but its ok "ill just have to get over it" just as expected

@Former-Member - go back to all the other times you've felt like you can't breathe or that things are too tough and pick one of them to try. Thr one that's worked the best.

School holidays are feeling overwhelming for me too. Maybe sometime soon we can brain storm some ideas we can both try with our littles? That can wait though.

Therapy, and making a decision about what to do re your mum can also wait.

These things will be there waiting. Tonight focus on that breath.

Re: Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

@Former-Member unless I'm missing something, there is no law that says you must go back. You are an adult and thus entirely free to choose whether you attend therapy or not. I know that therapy with the right therapist can be lifechanging in a super positive way...but I also know that "therapy" with the wrong therapist can destroy a person. Listen to your inside. You are the expert on you.

I'm heading off to bed now. Just trust your inside @Former-Member. If your inside says that someone isn't right for you, then trust that - no matter how many fancy letters they might have after their name.

Night @Former-Member.

Re: Depression- Really Struggling- may be triggering

@Former-Member. From what I've read you are missing two important things from todays session.
1 - talk openly with your mum. That doesn't mean sending her a text of you SHing. That means having a calm conversation - stating your point - listening to her response & then not reacting. Purely saying what you need to say. Staying on subject. And then leaving it there. That's what she wants you to practice doing.
2 - hearing what the therapist said about you smiling when talking about depression or suicide. Many of us have / do this. The reason she brought that up is:
* so that you are aware of it (some people aren't)
* so that you can think about emotions and feelings & why your body language shows the opposite of what's being talked about.
As I said - in trauma - this sort of thing is common. Because we learn to mask our emotions. Say "I'm okay" - when we are not. think your psychologist wants you to think on this and try to match your emotions with your face and body language.
It is a helpful tool in learning about emotikns and feelings. After that - she'll probably look at ways of controlling your emotions and not letting them be the whole focus. Like when we say - that's okay to feel sad/angry/scared etc - but now you have felt it - put it to the side.
One final thing I would like to say to you about any therapy sessions you have.
If you don't understand what they want you to do - or why they focused on something - ask them.
I'm always asking my psychologist to explain what he means. Often he will rephrase it so I understand. If it is complicated or hard homework - he sometimes writes it diwn for me.
Try not to worry about how many sessions you have left and what you have to achieve by the end of it. You will get where you get to. Stop pressuring yourself.
