Something’s not right

Does it ever stop

Does it ever stop

Hey - I feel like I can’t escape how I feel, how I react to things, how flashbacks and people I see that have caused me trauma in the past and present. I feel like I’m just trapped in it some days constantly and that it just wants to stay and haunt me and not leave.

my house mates have been arguing constantly and it got to a point tonight where I yelled at them to stop as it is getting annoying as it’s nearly everyday and it never stops. Then one of them had a go at me and started yelling and telling me that it’s the other persons fault when it wasn’t even them. It’s just a constant run around and I can’t seem to escape it.

im just now curled up on my bed in tears because I’m so triggered and I don’t know what or how I’m feeling.

im safe

but it’s just bringing up all my past all over again.

Hey @Fluttershy1

Thank you so much for reaching out and letting us know how you’re feeling. I’m really glad to hear you’re safe, but I can hear how incredibly heavy and exhausting the last few days have been for you 💚

It’s completely understandable that you’re feeling frustrated. Being sick with RSV and a cold is physically draining, and it’s notorious for wrecking sleep patterns. Please try to be kind to yourself about the 'nightlife', your body is fighting a virus, and it’s okay that your routine has shifted while you recover. It doesn't mean you've lost the progress you made; it just means you're in 'survival mode' for a moment.

It sounds like you’re juggling so much right now. Like the hypervigilance you're experiencing, where that constant 'checking over your shoulder' is your brain's way of trying to keep you safe when you're already stressed, but I know how exhausting it is to stay on high alert like that, especially while you're unwell.

And those family tensions are a lot too. It’s really tough when the people who should be supportive shrug off your mental health or call it 'attention-seeking.' You deserve to have your needs heard without being made to feel like you're 'walking on eggshells.'

I also just want to say and acknowledge that, despite what anyone said, you’ve been out on your own for four months now. That is such a massive achievement, and it shows just how resilient you are, even when things feel like they're spiralling at the moment.

I'm sorry about your rabbit’s ear infection. Having a sick pet on top of everything else is so stressful. When things feel this loud in your head, remember it’s okay to just breathe through one hour at a time.

We’re here for you, and we hear you 💚

Hey @MissGremlin - I didn’t really get much sleep but I did get a little bit at least. I’ve been awake for awhile now, but was laying here watching the stars on my roof.

it’s just the constant eggshell walking around with family and all that.

Re: Does it ever stop

Hey @DownMoreThanUp - I do have meds that help with that but sometimes they work sometimes they don’t it really depends. But I’ve been more on edge recently which hasn’t helped. I ended up falling asleep watching the stars last night. That’s how I end up always falling asleep as I find it calming.

or I will do grounding till I fall asleep

Re: Does it ever stop

@Fluttershy1 Awesome that at least you have grounding techniques they also really helped me. And yes the stars are really good at grounding strangely so.

Hope your day is a little better than been

such simply safety 'rules' helped me heaps.

Hey @MatchaToad - yeah, things are just really messy right now and I just want everything to be okay because I am just so exhausted and overwhelmed by it all but I don’t think it will give me a break at the moment, there has been tears the morning.

just trying to stay in the present with everything going on.

am safe

@Fluttershy1

I hear you, and I’m so sorry that this morning has already been so heavy with tears. It is incredibly draining when it feels like life is just throwing one thing after another at you without giving you a second to catch your breath 💚

Please don't be hard on yourself for being overwhelmed. Crying is a completely natural response to the sheer volume of what you're carrying right now (the RSV, the sleep disruption, the family stress, and your rabbit being ill).

It is a massive credit to you that you are focusing on staying in the present. When the "big picture" feels messy and out of control, just getting through the next ten minutes is a victory.

I am really glad to hear you are still safe. Take it one breath at a time today. There’s no rush to "fix" the messy parts right this second 💚
