Re: Saturday Soiree -- 24th January 2026

@Shaz51 poured myself a glass of iced coffee milk and thought of you. So i took a photo especially for you and came here to post it 🥰

I realised when taking the photo my glass has a TY teddybear image on it, which then reminds me of @Cuddlebear . 🥰

Small daily things that remind me of my friends on here, even when i am not online.

Sorry i didnt get back to people on Thursday after my cooking. I was very tired and took me 3hrs to eat the meal after. Sat and watched tv with my mum.

The palak paneer turned out really good! Even despite my funny "oops, didnt think about that" and substitutions or guestimated amounts lol. Waayyy better taste then the recipe i tried a few years ago. My mum liked it too and asked for the recipe and she will make some too with her homegrown tomatos and spinach once theyre all ripened.

i put way more paneer cheese in than per recipe because i wanted to use my whole block up lol.

Also, i learned that rice weevles (bugs) float in water. 🤭 didnt realise my airtight tub of rice had bugs in it 😏😒 until i put water into the rice and saw them all float. So yeah, that rice went to the compost. And i grabbed another type of rice i also had -- which did not have any bugs!

Of course this extra effort started to just feel too much at the time too, but i still did it and got through the extra frustration and energy usage.

So now i can laugh about the rice and my haphazard cooking.

Oh. And another photo i took for you earlier in the week @Shaz51 and generally for anyone else here that needs a laugh ( @NightFury @Rosepetal96 @john74 ?)

I was at a cafe and hit the straw with my arm whilst talking and wobbled the glass so much that the iced latte, including ice!, splashed out and also onto my top a bit lol.

Don't cry over spilt milk. Literally.

So i took a photo before cleaning it up for you all. It make such a pretty splash pattern on the table i thought 😅🤭🤣.

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 24th January 2026

@AlwaysMyself that looks amazing. I really struggle with cooking; I always do things like accidentally let bugs in the rice. I get really triggered when I make mistakes in the kitchen, I very rarely even try anymore because it doesn't seem worth the stress. Also, there is this child safety lock on my stovetop that I can't work out how to unlock. Even my kitchen knows to block me form cooking lol.

I hope you're proud of yourself for getting through the frustration and getting that yummy looking meal on the plate.

LOL @Ruby26 , send the child proof locks my way!

I end up getting meals from my sister or neighbours. My sister cooks for her family, so she leaves me a meal each time. I pay for some groceries and takeaway when we have it etc. So it works out.

@tyme my partner cooks me dinner sometimes, the rest of the time I get microwave meals or just have mushrooms and cheese on toast.
