Thursday Coffee and Chat -- 22nd January 2026

@Glisten when was the last time you had a sauna? I think I need to get into Swan Active and start making use of the sauna. My neck and shoulder are causing way too much discomfort, that and the heat is probably what's making me so cranky!

I told my brother about your suggestion of being neighbourly and making muffins for the neighbour and his dogs...he nodded and said "well, she's not wrong, it IS a neighbourly thing to do."

The heat has been affecting the 4 leggeds to whom I am bound. Gypsy, my old lady (she's 18 in October) wanted to go outside the door that we vent the portable aircon out of. I put her out and she stood in front of the vent, hot air blowing on her backside fur and tail, then turned her face as if to say "Marilyn Monroe has nothing on me". I wish I'd got a photo of it, she looked adorable!

I have been feeling really average of late, I had hoped the 'mone patches would help but while I don't have as many power surges I still feel blah. The weather is partly to blame but not completely.

(How do you make a hormone? Don't pay her...oops too much?)

Are you able to show your handiwork? Maybe I need to buy a sedan as a companion for Paris tee hee hee!

@ENKELI pain is a horrible thing. Last Tuesday I had a sauna. I require a sauna at least once a week.

I just had an ocular migraine, which I haven't had in a couple of years. Annoying but not painful. I have to wait for the aura to disappear so I can read.

Second vet appointment with the new practice at 1.30 Monday. I'm a little apprehensive but I don't want anything too complex so hopefully it will go okay.

Another stinker tomorrow, then 2 days of mid 30s followed by 4 days of 40.

There's another word that starts with F that I could use right now... Holy F...ruitbat!

Bully hills has been in Power outage since 12:30 lunchtime yesterday.

Even though k has and month off between Fly Out, he hasn’t managed to get his generator repaired or replaced.

On property electric pump, pumps water from water tanks to the house.

Fortunately I’m one of those people who always has a bucket of water in the house. At least I can have a bucket 🪣 wash.

k has a tank of fresh water for fighting fires. But never filled a bucket for himself to have a wash 😆

Shops and petrol stations have their own generators. 8:30 last night I went down to the main road to get a bag of ice. Every fast food outlet was full of Darling Range dwellers dining alfresco.

There I am in my pjs buying pizza at Domino and getting a bag of ice and coconut water the local servo - I have no shame. 😆

I can highly recommend Hyundai electric fans.

6:30am and I had to interface with k&thekelpies. “What are you doing today?”
Me: Haven’t thought about it mate. Thinks to self, watch Fringe and go back to sleep, might be nice.

Post Note: Tells me he is taking kelps to the park, but leaving his phone - battery is flat. Doesn’t have a powerbank like Sprout.

Hey @Glisten my successful but very hard working brother in Adelaide had a lot to do with setting up fringe in Perth @Glisten - I had seen him once when he flew over he looked very business like setting up the fringe festival*

Physical work is very good, I think I'll get my mojo back sin the years to come until then I'm doing an embroidery

@Glisten oh Tomaatti you poor thing! Has K been on property for a while? Not having a gennie or access to the water tank for the house is ridiculous!
Has the power been restored yet? There was an outage nearby where Crazy Cat Lady and the Mosh Cats live, affected only 35 people so I guess they weren't in a hurry to get it restored. So far we've only been affected once but I told bro that he better get the gennie out because I'm not suffering through Feb without aircon. Bugger the fridge and freezer, I wanna stay cool.

Downtown Bully in jammies? You'd fit right in here in the 'Vegas, although I suspect your jammies would be a bit too high class. Ex friend went into BWS in her jammies one time, I thought it hilarious.

Enjoy watching Fringe and having a nap, it's really too hot to be doing anything else, especially if there is not electricity.

Not letting K know you have a couple of power banks is quite acceptable. Tell him that Engel sell portable solar mats and panels for such an occasion!

Speaking of bro, I told him about you calling my old lady Gypsy Monroe and he loves it. He said it sounds like a stripper name. I replied that considering the way she was acting in front of the vent fan it was appropriate.

I bought a new fan from Funnings not long ago, it works really well. Will have to check out the Hyundai model of which you speak. I have 6 fans in the house, time to start an account!!
