Cuddlebears Space

Cuddlebears Space

Hello everyone I’ve made a space here.

I’ve been having a really rough time. I have experienced a lot of trauma and abuse since childhood. I’ve been on forums for a while now and thought to start a thread so that my journey and anyone that cares to see how I’m going and offer support or advice can find me here.

I have complex ptsd, anxiety and severe depression with anhedonia. I’m currently tapering antidepressant and it’s been brutal.

I am really struggling everyday and can’t find ways to feel better. I’ve tried so many things.

I am having daily panic attacks, my body shutdown and I am so lonely with very little support. There’s a real heavy darkness around me I feel so unloved and worthless. I can’t do basic things like shower, eat, clean and going out is very very hard. I have no purpose or meaning though I try to create it but nothing works.

More recently I’ve experienced passive SI and sometimes more active. The tapering I believe has caused these symptoms. I’m safe.

Im finding it hard to write this all up. I hope it gives you some insight. @MissGremlin @AlwaysMyself@Chasingsunsets

Re: Cuddlebears Space

@Cuddlebear so nice that Wilbur likes being groomed 😍. Mine have mixed feelings I think. They definitely do not like the getting wet or blow-drying aspect of grooming, but now that I take them to be groomed (rather than doing it myself) they do love getting to see the groomers and other dogs there! 🤣 But neither of my dogs put up a fuss now - once they know the routine, they're compliant. But first time? My drama-queen 3yo female will cry and pull her feet away like a sook haha -- she did this every time with me, howling in the shower like she was either lonely or hurt lol. Such a sighthound thing to do though!! Greyhounds are also the same.

I heard a lot of cries when I was waiting for them (cafe next door could hear through walls) - but turns out it wasn't my boy with the hip problems -- it was 2 small dogs who are super-dramatic about their nails being clipped 🤣😂. Gave me a laugh.

Re: Cuddlebears Space

@Cuddlebear I know how you feel honey. I feel like I am on a merry-go-round with a couple of ups but mostly downs. I feel powerless to do anything regarding my dad's wishes simply because I am in WA and he was in NSW. My narcissister was listed as co executor of dad's will and is not providing any information regarding what dad wanted. It's only that I contacted dad's lawyer that I even got a copy of the will. Narcissister also didn't tell my brother and I when dad chose to die - he had requested voluntary euthanasia (my sincere apologies if I have told you this already, my mind is so messed up at the moment I don't remember who I have told what and when) and my bitch sister deliberately didn't tell my brother and I so we couldn't be there to say goodbye.

My anxiety has been through the roof and I feel like all I do is complain when I should be grateful for what I do have.

Darling how are you going with your housing situation? I have been doing a LOT of praying lately and I have lifted you up in prayer. I Just pray you have a resolution sooner rather than later.
Being in that state of anxiety with the elephant sitting itself on your chest is just horrid and you especially deserve comfort and support.

Let me know if there is anything specific you are needing/wanting darlingheart xoxo

@ENKELI Hello lovely? How are you today?

I can’t express how sorry I am that you were not able to be there with your dad. Thwt your sister never gave you that chance. That would be so painful and so hard right now. It sounds like your sister is really not very nice person at all. I’m sorry she’s giving you so much stress and trauma. I am glad there’s a co executor a lawyer who has passed on some information. Perhaps keeping in contact with him and making it clear you want to know what’s happening and how unhappy you are about not being there with your dad and to be able to say goodbye in the way you wanted. I really am so sorry lovely it’s brutal what’s happening at the moment. Would it help to talk to your dad out loud and pray to God to let him know how much you love him and that you wanted to be there for him? It’s normal for your anxiety to go through the roof this is deep grief and it matters. It’s not a small thing to say oh just be grateful for what I have. It’s a big loss in terrible circumstances and you are grieving.

I have a roof over my head. I’ve just learned to live with the housing situation. It’s hard but out of my control. I’m poor and renting. All I want is a home that is accessible and a home that the owner maintains so it’s not all run down. A yard for my seeing guide dog. He’s stuck in this tiny place and everyday I go on nature strip to toilet him and he has no yard to play in with me. Days like today where it’s too hot for him to be working a yard would help to exercise him early by playing and I wouldn’t need to be out in the road trying to get him to toilet.

Im just very lonely and sitting with heavy depression and complex PTSD. My anxiety is through the roof. I can’t afford mental health services and I just feel so worthless to be honest.

Having people like you understand and be supportive helps. It gives me some hope that other humans do care thwt I’m just a bit less alone.

Re: Cuddlebears Space

@tyme Hello lovely how are you? Are you keeping well?

Yes the world is disabling and something out of my control. It makes things harder with mental illness recovery. Honestly I’ve done everything I have reached out gotten whatever services I can and turned up and applied the advice. This poorly done taper has really affected me and now nothing I try works. It’s hard being alone too with little f2f contact. It’s the f2f contact that can help a little. The types of treatment for complex PTSD and depression are financially prohibitive and so there’s no real, quality help there. It’s all bits here and there in an underfunded public system that lacks a lot of the treatment. Meds are only one small part to assist and I’m sick of being a Guinea pig so to speak for low quality and inexperienced public psychiatrists.

I do have some strengths. I’m good with animals and When given a chance I’m a good friend. I’m told I’m a good cook and my child says I’m the best mum in the world. I’m good at strategic thinking and academic research. I’m empathetic and don’t judge people and see peoples abilities. Im also strong. Surviving this has shown me I’m strong.

Re: Cuddlebears Space

@Cuddlebear oh sweetheart, that is not a great situation at all (understatement of the year).

I wish there was an authority that gave deserving people like yourself low rent accommodation. While I know sole parents need accommodation also, single people with mental health conditions need to be prioritised.

Nothing is being done about the isolation of people either. It's no wonder that places like Sane are so popular these days, there is no provision for us offline that is low cost or free.
Things family members have asked me when I have mentioned I am lonely and have no friends -

"You used to enjoy the theatre and drama, why don't you join a group?" Because they cost money I don't have
"Why don't you join a yoga class, or water aerobics?" Again, money I don't have.

Oh, and I am worried about what people will think of me, being overweight and missing several teeth. I feel unattractive as it is, I don't need people reminding me of it.

What can I do my sweet Bear, to help you even just a little bit? Aside from prayer is there something else that would help?

xoxo

Re: Cuddlebears Space

What a beautiful and reflective post @Cuddlebear . I read that you are strong. I read how you have lept over hurdles to get to where you are now. Your journey is certainly powerful and one I look forward to hearing more about.

When I consider the different journeys of people here, I can see how we are all so different. Yet we are all here and able to connect with one another and just be who we are without judgment.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I'm so pleased to hear that you are able to identify your strengths. The fact that you are so good with animals shows that they trust you. As for cooking? That's certainly a strength of yours that is a weakness of mine!

Great to see you @Cuddlebear
