Happy New Years Eve 2025! Feel free to tag any members I may have missed - sorry!

This is a discussion post to celebrate the past year of 2025 and to let others know what’s been great, not so great and what is going on in your world tonight and into the new year. Feel free to let others know your highlights, lowlights, etc, as well as what you’ve got planned for tonight, if anything! Basically, anything goes so feel free to join in and enjoy the last of 2025!

I realise that today may be difficult for some forum members and that’s perfectly okay if you don’t feel like celebrating or sharing anything. The main thing is that you are here and that’s a massive achievement so well done on making it to today and to the end of the year👍🏻!

I’ll get this party started with some ideas, etc. Feel free to add to the list - I look forward to seeing what other things forumites list and have enjoyed over 2025.

- Favourite Sporting Event- Brisbane Lions AFL Grand Final win followed by the Hobart Hurricanes Women’s Big Bash Cricket grand final win

- Favourite holiday- a cruise to the Great Barrier Reef on Carnival Splendor followed by my trip to Echuca

- Favourite new hobby - Learning how to do diamond painting at a mental health facility in February and keeping up the hobby afterwards

- Favourite music - Luke Combs (recently discovered him and love his music)

- TV Show - Gossip Girl on streaming app 9Now and Gogglebox

- Greatest Achievement this year - Becoming a carer for my housemate and learning how to navigate the carer space with new strategies gained from accessing a peer carer giving me ideas on how to handle this new role. A shout out to all forumites who have helped me as I’ve worked through this new role and its various challenges- thank you! Also being accepted into the Bachelor of Social Work for next year at uni - 2026.

- Favourite Craft Hobby - Knitting followed by crochet with several projects like kids jumpers, blankets and beanies completed for charity. My 4mm crochet hook also became my new favourite craft tool of the year along with my 4.5.mm knitting needles as they really helped me deal with stress and anxiety over the year.

- Favourite Scent for Mental Health - Eucalyptus

- Favourite book I read - The Road Trip by Tricia Stringer

- Favourite self care strategies this year - Crochet granny squares, journaling and using my eucalyptus spray

Tonight is a quiet night at home watching tv or maybe a movie with my housemate and having pizza. I’ll watch the fireworks displays on TV as well.

Next year is full of exciting times with me going back to uni to study my social work qualification- 4 years- whilst living in student accommodation for the first year at least. It’ll be weird being back on campus as the last time was for my first degree in 2004 - University of Tasmania in Launceston- but I’m looking forward to it and the new adventures and challenges it offers at a new uni. Roll on 2026!

Lets continue this 2025 party🥳!

Take care!

My highlight this year was touring NZ for 6 weeks @Judi9877 . Nothing planned for 2026 yet. Want to see friends in US (won’t get let in though) and in Mexico. Quiet night tonight at home. Will try to stay awake long enough to watch first fireworks,

Wow lots of oysters @TAB . I love oysters raw. Might get some in the New Year. Just taking it easy today. Thinking of watching a DVD this afternoon.

My Greatest Achievement this year is breaking out of Anhedonia and establishing a strict daily routine that includes proper meal times and sleep time.

My plans for next year are to get a job and keep it.

I will be spending the day at home and tomorrow, we will have dinner with extended family members.

My New Year Resolution is to keep being as social as possible, which includes contributing on SANE Forums.

Happy New Year Eve, everyone!

Hello @Judi9877 great to see you here and being induced into your new social work degree. Thats a big achievement! I know 2025 hasn't been the best for you especially with your housing situation but you always find a way to rise to the occasion and make the most of everything. You have a lot of grit and tenacity and above all a lot of hope that sustains you through life. I've learned a lot from you!

Heres some of my favorite things from 2025:

- This year has been the year of the snake in chinese astrology. The snake slithers across the forest floor igcognito. I have enjoyed a quieter year enjoying a low profile

- I healed my subclinical thyroid condition with advanced protocols after a previous year of considerable upsets to my lifestyle and routine.

- I learned a new Japanese philosophy called Kaizen - the art of getting things done. Its used in psychology and business management for greater productivity. Its enabled me as a householder to manage my life better with my energy deficits

- Have been introduced to an evolutionary esoteric system called Human Design. It pushes you forward into the unknown instead of remaining stuck in life.

- Uncovered a free new astrology website called https://www.astromatrix.org/ that enables me to use crystals to deal with all kinds of astrological events with grace. The crystals are paired with specific events to get the most out of any given situation

- Got a wish fulfilling stone called cintamani stone. Its used in ancient Buddhist and Christian traditions to wish for anything you desire into being. Its a rare stone. Only 5kgs of it is mined roughly per year its rarer than diamonds. Its great to wish for what you want but even better to give what you have all away!

- Learned new energy techniques for health and wellbeing. My favorite would have to be the meridian flush as it imparts heightened wellbeing. All your meridians are open and you feel amazing!

- Found a Rife audio on you tube for when you come down with a cold/flu. Great for winter. Knocks out a virus in under an hour. Great if you live alone and love your independence and dont want to endure sickness.

- Enjoying "holistays" at home using a device that is used in hotels and B&B's which bathes my home with serene peaceful energy. You plug it in and it blocks out all 5G and EMF's and harmonizes your living space. Its just like having a holiday.

- My xmas present: a rebounder which is known to do a really deep cleanse of the lymph.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy new year! 🎉🎆

Re: New Years Eve 2025 Discussion Thread 🥳

Thanks @Judi9877 @Shaz51 .

It is good to read others reflections on the year - the wins, losses, and struggles. We are a very persevering bunch here i think.

Sometimes it can be hard to feel like there have been positives. But sometimes just persevering to survive can be the positive. Or making small changes that support what you have needed, or pushing for supports you need even if they were not accepted (self-advocacy is a positive skill to be celebrated).

My 2025 has been difficult and unpleasant in both work and personal life. But in both realms I made changes in things that I needed to for my own wellbeing, even though i knew it would have other consequences that are not my ideal. But when you try to work towards a middleground of ideal and the other involves parties will not, sometimes you have to make the hard choice to do what is best for you. I can be proud/grateful that I have done this for myself, even whilst i also mourn the impaired relationships because of it.

I may not feel glad to have survived this year. But i know others around me are glad i have.

And, 2025 I found this forum. That is a positive. I have people I can share these thoughts to who "get it", listen, and care.

Re: New Years Eve 2025 Discussion Thread 🥳

So many achievements everyone. Happy for you all. I am so depressed...suicidal thoughts that I all i see is blackness. But don't worry as I won't act on it. My children need me. I'll get through the day somehow. I will see my best friend later today so that will help. Stay safe everyone and push all the dark thoughts as much as you can. I will talk to my therapist about this in the new year.

I hear you @Healandlove . I know those thoughts well myself. I am glad you also have self-control to not act in them. Glad to hear you are meeting up with a friend later today - i hope that is good support and distraction for you.

Feel free to tag me if you want/need to chat about your thoughts.

Re: New Years Eve 2025 Discussion Thread 🥳

Thank you @AlwaysMyself

I'll get through it again. Sometimes I wonder if one day I just won't be able to but my children are the only reason I stay.

I hope you are well
