@Flutterbug9 responding to posts post-by-post, so apology in advance if there is more than one as I work down the page haha. But this way I can still post at however paced I need to work with my varying brain function lol. But I am using my laptop currently, so I can use the Quote inserts so you know better what I am responding to. 😊

Sitting in psychologist room I’m relaxed plus she has different way of approaching things, so far. Do I trust her yet - No!
This sounds positive. 😊. Sometimes my counsellor will mention something to talk about during the next session, but she may not bring it up the next session because she wants me to be able to bring up whatever i want/need to talk about - whether or not it is the "plan" from last time. Although, personally I do feel it is hard to bring up the topic of trauma/abuse myself, so if I wanted to bring it up (and she didn't) I'd probably try to do so in a "softer" (easier for me) way such as "last time you mentioned something that might help to chat about. can we talk about that?", or "I find it hard to talk about my experience, but i wonder if it would help" (and then let her read between the lines of what "experience" that means lol).
Not sure if that gives any perspective for possible reasons that they might decide not to bring up the topic next time if there appears to be something else you want to talk about instead. But also that it is OK to bring it up yourself - even indirectly if easier - if its something you want to touch on. Or even to tell them directly "at the start of the session, please recap what we decided at the end of the last one" so that you can then say if that is what you want to continue with or not for the current session?? Just ideas, thats all. 😊

I remember seeing these bear photos before, but didn't realise/remember they were yours! 😍 I love them! I have never seen them anywhere else before. The boat is very cool too! So big too 🙂 I love how detailed it is. 😃
I got given a Tranquil Gardens lego when I saw my father (not a christmas gift for me, but something they didn't want) - It will be good to do, then I will find a place in a display cabinet in my study.

Approx 20years after they were married my parents continued living in a house that was only partly built. House plans (which I have amongst other documents) show house was intended to have 3 bedrooms, kitchen, lounge etc. only the 3 bedrooms had been built (plus maybe bathroom and laundry), one used as lounge combined dining room, one as kitchen, one as bedroom.
I knew the house was different than other people’s, to me that was my”normal”.
apparently my mother was the driving force behind the actual kitchen (and subsequently the lounge room) being built, only as I was approaching puberty and that I needed my own room.
Approx 11yo and I had my own unpainted, unfinished room that I “shared” with cupboards that were there from when room was the kitchen. A room that had no floor coverings or power points. An 11yo girl who had no idea what becoming a teenager meant and had in store for me.
I know the feeling of things being "normal" until somehow later you realise it isn't the same as everyone else. And "different" isn't always a bad thing either - depends on what the impact of it is - so it can also be hard to know what is "OK different" and what is "not OK different".
I am glad you did eventually get your own bedroom as you were going in puberty; privacy and all that. Even though it wasn't the same as others houses - unpainted, bare, crowded with cupboards, no powerpoints.
How did you feel about growing up in a basic / unfinished house?
I am trying to imagine what it would feel like, but the closest experience I have had is the time i spent living overseas for 2-3 months in a very basic cement cottage. It had a gas stove/oven, and it had powerpoints so I could borrow a bar-fridge from a friend to use. For some reason there was a random ironing board left by the previous renter, so I used that as a "table" if I needed to put my laptop on something. The floors were bare concrete - and my version of "sweeping" was to push the loose dirt and chipped cement back into the holes 😅. However I lived there by choice, as an adult, and only for a short period of time - which is very different from yourself. Plus I had the place to myself, not sharing. in a crowded situation.

Initially it was working out what I could eat without any issues plus having to accept this is another ongoing health condition. Edit: hot days are challenging as I can’t risk eating salad items and have to be careful which meat from deli I buy
Diagnosis was about 15yrs ago. Since then have get used to not being able to eat and drink certain things. I try to stick to gluten free foods and have learnt my levels with things that I have intolerance to.
Hearing that summer is a lot harder with the food options - hope you are doing OK with the current heatwave.
I get frustrated by my combined food-for-health needs and limited palatability and low-energy. I easily get overwhelmed by the idea of what to eat that fits all 3 needs - which is why my current realisation of using nutritional bars has been so good because it fits all 3 needs OK, and doesn't really cost any more than any other premade meal from a supermarket. I just have to either go to a specific pharmacy or buy them online to get them - a small inconvenience in comparison to the relief they give me though!
How do you find it now, managing to juggle what foods you can or can't eat?
Are there any/many premade meal options for if you are having a rough time and finding it hard to do your own cooking?
Would you prefect Injections of OTC tablet medication? Does this make it a once-per-x-weeks injection rather than a daily tablet? (more convenient?)
I hope you are able to have the choice between which one you would like. 😊
That is frustrating that you can no longer see your own blood test results. Is there a reason for the change in this?
My area has a patient-login to view test results done by the public system, however for private providers I need to remember to ask them to upload it to the federal ehealth record if I want to be able to access the results myself (other than a printout from the GP).
