Talking through trauma and PTSD

The me no one knows - SI warning

The me no one knows - SI warning

I’ve made this space to have somewhere safe to talk and share things.

to chat with every one who has shown concern about and for me.

I have spent almost all my life masking, from as far back as primary school (possibly younger).

almost no one knows the real me. Not sure if I even know the real me.

my past is filled with lots of darkness. People I’ve tried to speak with during my life either don’t believe me or don’t want to know

@AlwaysMyself @Bunniekins @Captain24 @Cuddlebear @rav3n @Jynx

hiding behind the mask pretending nothing is wrong. Putting on brave face whilst inside I’m a shattered pieces. Feeling lost and completely alone. No one wants anything to do with me. Relatives only contact when they want something. Going to bed every night hoping to never wake again

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

I haven’t unpacked everything from my hospital stay in first week of December @MissGremlin

booking made today for next infusion. Will be starting to put things into my case soon.

end of next week have person coming to do free measure and quote for alfresco blinds. I then need to organise free measure and quote from steel fabrication company for horizontal support beam.

Stress headache starting, too much to deal with today.

estimate cost of hospital and cattery for next infusion is approx $1,000.

things start to settle then something happens and WHACK! I’m flattened again

feeling teary and fragile atm. Have to have ecg at noon which I can’t get out of

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

Hahaha.. the unpacking. I sometimes struggle with that too. I just leave it and think I’ll get to it later. It wasn’t that long ago @Flutterbug9

Im sorry about the stress headache, its hard when so much is going on and it’s all about waiting.

Hospital costs so much and I go private as I have insurance and it still costs a lot. I don’t have to worry about boarding my dogs though at least mum will take them. I’m guessing if I have to have the hysterectomy I will have to stay in for a few days. So they will have to have them. I’m hoping it’s in the cooler months so Pix doesn’t have to suffer the heat at mum and dad’s house.

It’s horrible when more things happen, feeling free for a moment and then something else appears.

I hope the ECG goes well and you are able to get through it. Feeling fragile while having to do it must feel overwhelming. Is there anything you can do for yourself this afternoon to be gentle and care for yourself?

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

@Flutterbug9 unpacking things is sometimes such a task and I feel like I've really got to be in the mood to do it.

Glad you've got your next infusion booked. Starting to put things into your case sounds like a good plan.

Hope the measure and quote at the end of next week goes well and you can get one for the horizontal support beam.

Today sounds like it's been alot, those stress headaches are horrible.

I know it's a big expense but it's worth it in the long run to help you.

I hear you sweet and it's understandable that you feel teary and fragile. I hope the ecg goes well for you. Sending you lots of love and hugs beautiful ❤️.

I totally understand avoidance around journaling - it can take a lot of energetic effort to be present with our emotions... I think this is why I like stream of consciousness journaling, because you can just start anywhere and flow into whatever comes up. I find this is a really lovely way to meet yourself where you're at. @Flutterbug9 @NightFury

"I also find journalling helps me channel my inner wisdom. I'm a big believer of emotion being the language of the soul, and so, journalling helps me to connect with my inner voice, my inner compass and with my soul." - I love this!! @NightFury journaling absolutely helps you to tap into your own wisdom - which you all have. ☺️

Have you been exploring journaling @Flutterbug9? 🫶

I go private also @Captain24. Hospital cost estimated at few hundred dollars. I have no option with my cats, they have to got to cattery. Week in cattery couple mths ago was just under $800.

I was in hospital for about a week when I had my hysterectomy. Random thoughts with Pix and the heat

- cooling mat?

- paddling pool?
- laying cool, damp towel on her and keeping it moist?

ecg was done quickly, lady was good. 41 outside and quite windy. Have got ceiling fans and aircon on.
my thoughts for the afternoon, a nap, games on my iPad, colouring. Bought lunch, which I don’t usually do

Not as yet @AuntGlow

I’ve seen posts where someone has used the word “journal”

is something I briefly mention to my new psychologist during my first appointment with her. Mentioned to her I’d like to discuss and explore.

she said we will include it in my goals, when we start working on them.

thought might be able to learn things on the forums.

maybe be able to be given links (if appropriate) for locations to read

want/need today to be finished.

That’s a lot of money for a week @Flutterbug9. Are you comfortable having a house sitter while you are in?

I have never stayed overnight in a medical hospital but a week feels like a really long time!

Pix has a cooling mat here that she doesn’t use, she has one at mums that she will sometimes get on. I did have a little pool for her but she just doesn’t get into it. Which is really unusual as she loves the water.

The wet towels is a really good idea! The vet used them when they were trying to save her life! Might need them when we go on holidays! Thanks so much for the prompt.

Im glad it was quick for you. A nap sounds good and you definitely deserved lunch!

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

Sorry @Flutterbug9. I’ve just read this post.

Im thinking of you and I’m hoping that the wind changes direction for you.

I get not wanting to leave and putting your cats first. There is no way I would leave without my dogs. I just couldn’t do it.

Please stay safe.

Im thinking of you and praying that they can get it under control.
