@Flutterbug9 appologies i didnt get to reply yesterday afternoon - medication withdrawal dizziness and "zaps" even after my 3hr nap. The nap helped, but as soon as I got up and walked down the hall it was back, so i was very limited in my ability to even read messages let alone reply. 😬. I ended up going back to bed at 730pm because of it - watching tv laying down was even "too much eye movement" for my brain!!
So far today OK - hope it stays that way. Had a shower and walked around a bit to gather some things for this evening i need, and that hasnt triggered any notable dizziness. The pattern had been that the Wed & Thurs after the Monday decrease were the dizzy days, so based on that pattern i hope to be OK today (but i know it can get worse now im at smaller doses). Today is a super extra busy day! Massage & counsellor as usual, but hoping after counsellor to duck out for a couple hours to take my dog to a meet & greet a hound (promote as pets, for a rescue) at our local show. And then this evening a free outdoor shakespeare play - which mum and i will have a BYO picnic dinner during. If i do all that, i will literally only have a 30-60min "break" between my appointments 😅 everything else is back to back.
But if im dizzy, i dont take the dog to the "meet a hound".
Selling car - hope i might get the rubber button replacement part for the keys today in the post?? Else Monday i guess. I havent gotten around to listing it online yet. I had hoped to do it yesterday but the dizzy threw all my things out the window. So hopefully this weekend 😊.
Have emailed the recommended psych re: an appointment. I assume they are self-employed, as they have email-only rather than a phone number. (I know how hard it was for my mum to take calls when having back to back clients, so email makes a lot of sense. Same as the MH GP does actually). Not heard back yet, but hopefully soon. I asked a question and noted a concern in the email which i'm interested to hear her answer to also. It would be face-to-face.
I had a really interesting chat with my sister the other evening - we rarely chat on the phone. She would not be particularly surprised if i was autistic, and asked whether i reckon i could be adhd at all (which the gp also asked me on Tuesday lol). She agreed that our dad has *a lot* of adhd traits (and autistic traits - no one has ever denied that 😅), and she can see them in our childhood too (not just recently, even though theyre more pronounced since retirement). I dont know about adhd myself, i think i would be sub-clinical for it but i definitely use a lot of the same behavioural-techniques that are promoted as "omg brain hack!" for adhd people 😅. I am aware of the high rate of co-occurance of asd and adhd in women with asd, and thus dont discount the possibility of a mildly adhd brain type. Part of why it would be interesting if i am in a group in the research trial that doesnt get all 3 doses of the active medication, since the alternative is an adhd medication... 😉. Would i feel calmer? Would i feel i have more energy? Who knows! It could go either way lol. But if i have a super-calm-brain non-psychadelic session... it could be an indicator 🤔.
The 2hr questionaires interview for the trial on Tuesday was via video call. My final eligibility assessment next week is face to face with the research pdoc. I think its about 1-1.5 hours?
weight is continuing to slowly move in a good direction, and thus not currently a reason for ineligibility (ie i'm comfortably within the required range) unless i somehow shrink in height 🤣.
Oh, that poses a really interesting question. How do they adjust BMI for amputees?
I dont recall if it were yourself or someone else who also has some experience with amputations that i've read?
@Cuddlebear also may know, from personal experience? 🤔
Sorry if my mind is too curious! I'm sure they must have a medical method to "adjust" or it though! Or even for things like scoliosis which affects "height" measurements.
I mostly chatted to the support worker this week, as i was feeling quite tired, and know that i felt worse after "doing" the week before. But i was able to talk about how i feel around the aims of the program generally to "increase self-management/capacity" vs my need for "respite" from pushing myself internally to do things (and how having company which can externally encourage me to do it helps, even though that isnt a longterm/lasting benefit beyond the program length). Its hard when i have the skills to force myself to do things, but doing things doesnt provide the relief or positive feedback feelings that it is "meant to". Thats how i end up burntout from constantly forcing myself to keep doing the basics and the things that are said to prevent MH decline. I have no solution for it 😔.
My dogs love aircon 🤭. My female dog doesnt mind water and sometimes walks in the garden stream (if its running) or in the past would nose around in the pond (but i dont think she chases the goldfish?) But not frequently. If i see her *in* the pond she gets told off. If she tries to come inside with wet feet she has to get towelled off first. Thankfully the pond was cleaned out when repeairs were done, so its no longer all mud. She used to appear with brown feet and even a brown snoot (nose). I do have an old photo of her brown nose actually, i'll see if i can find it to post for you 😅.
They do cope OK with the heat when they have to be outside, but they definitely prefer the cool. The benefit of them being in heat is they sleep more 🤣🤣. But i mean, the sleep most of the time anyway!
