Talking through trauma and PTSD

The me no one knows - SI warning

The me no one knows - SI warning

I’ve made this space to have somewhere safe to talk and share things.

to chat with every one who has shown concern about and for me.

I have spent almost all my life masking, from as far back as primary school (possibly younger).

almost no one knows the real me. Not sure if I even know the real me.

my past is filled with lots of darkness. People I’ve tried to speak with during my life either don’t believe me or don’t want to know

@AlwaysMyself @Bunniekins @Captain24 @Cuddlebear @rav3n @Jynx

hiding behind the mask pretending nothing is wrong. Putting on brave face whilst inside I’m a shattered pieces. Feeling lost and completely alone. No one wants anything to do with me. Relatives only contact when they want something. Going to bed every night hoping to never wake again

🤩 @Flutterbug9 glad haircut went well. 😊 will be a fun surprise for your friend when they see you! Its great the hairdresser "works with your natural hair" re: waves 😊. I have naturally wavy hair too - the shorter it is the more it gets curls in the ends, where as when it is longer they get pulled down to more gentle waves or straight.

@Flutterbug9 @I’m excited you got the hair cut! Yay! I bet it looks gorgeous and really suits you!

Croquet always reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. I’ve never seen a real game of it! Have you started playing yet?

Your friend will be very pleasantly surprised when they see your new hair cut!

Im really glad you finally got the cut. I hope it’s making you feel fabulous!

Hairdresser explained I have a lot of volume in my hair. The ‘fringe’ area, especially on my left side, feels bit out of place. Hoping will sit a bit better after it’s washed.

worst case, will be some feedback for couple months when I get a trim.

I will play croquet on Wednesdays this year @Cuddlebear, first game tomorrow at 9am. I usually stay at the area and watch the next game played, score for them if needed. Will depend on the weather tomorrow if I come straight home after my game or not. Not far from the croquet green there is a large shade sail which was nice to sit under today.

im not sure of that friends thoughts. to be honest, im not worried either way. Is not someone I have much contact with, even though we live less than 10mins drive away from each other, and is an ‘interesting’ character. From few little things that have been mentioned during the time since we met it appears there is trauma background somewhere and has had bad experience/s with therapist/s and/or psychiatrist/s. Almost anything medical related I’ve found best to avoid. Lots of other little things I can’t make any logic out of.

New hair style as of late morning today @Jynx

hairdresser said before she started that due to thickness and volume of my hair it wouldn’t look exactly as the photo. I’m not complaining.

hairdresser pleasant surprise how well it turned out

im actually looking forward to croquet tomorrow morning, not having to think about what to do with my hair.

how are things travelling with you?

any plans for next couple of weeks?

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

Oh I love this @Flutterbug9 - I too have a 'wake up and it's done' hairstyle - it's a mohawk so I do have to shave the sides every few weeks, but I much prefer it to when I had dreadlocks and had to get them maintained regularly! Still could 'wake up and it's done' with them, but the maintenance was pricey and painful, cos they would get tightened and my scalp would hurt for a couple days after!!

I've been chugging along okay, I am definitely looking forward to some upcoming birthday celebrations (I imagine Shaz will post something about it haha - it's on the 25th!) where I'm going off to a little beach getaway for a couple days. Be good to just sit and watch the waves, maybe freeze my little behind off if I decide to take a dip!! Bout to head off for the evening and imma try to get my piles of clothes and dishes under control 😅

How's your world? 💜

Trying to focus on casual challenge set by my new psychologist to help me break away from hardly ever leaving my home. @Jynx

croquet starts back tomorrow. Hoping to continue with trivia (will depend if more people turn up to make teams of 5 or 6). Tuesday next week going to investigate what “drumming exercises” are. Hoping to get into a team to play a domino based game called Mexican Trains on Tuesday afternoons.

catching up with couple of friends withing the couple of weeks. Electrician coming to install external PowerPoint in preparation for when my ziplock alfresco blinds will be ready (ETA on the blinds is couple months time)

im looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming trip. 💜

Morning @AlwaysMyself

only slight hint I’m giving re employer.

you mentioned 2 names in a post last night.

hoping you have some understanding of my preference not to say which name was on my payslips

sorry to hear the household atmosphere.

Sounds like possible no win situation 🙁

@Flutterbug9 Hello friend how are you today?

How did you go styling your hair?

How was croquet today? Was the game enjoyable? I hope it was.

I do hope the catch up does go well. Sometimes it’s hard with trauma as talking about it can be quite triggering. But I’m really happy you are catching up. Get to know one another a little better and it’s good to have some company too.

@AuntGlow Hello lovely how are you?

My nervous system is in shutdown. There’s no self care. I just can’t do it at all. I just sit in a spot all day. I’m worn out.
