Talking through trauma and PTSD

The me no one knows - SI warning

The me no one knows - SI warning

I’ve made this space to have somewhere safe to talk and share things.

to chat with every one who has shown concern about and for me.

I have spent almost all my life masking, from as far back as primary school (possibly younger).

almost no one knows the real me. Not sure if I even know the real me.

my past is filled with lots of darkness. People I’ve tried to speak with during my life either don’t believe me or don’t want to know

@AlwaysMyself @Bunniekins @Captain24 @Cuddlebear @rav3n @Jynx

hiding behind the mask pretending nothing is wrong. Putting on brave face whilst inside I’m a shattered pieces. Feeling lost and completely alone. No one wants anything to do with me. Relatives only contact when they want something. Going to bed every night hoping to never wake again

@Flutterbug9 Hello how are you?

Im behind the posts again. I’m sorry though that there are issues with the rostering. Has any of it been resolved? I know how much you enjoy the game so really want you to be feeling good about the rostering of the games.

When does the season start?

The other day I was asking if the trains had a remote control to make them go around and work on the sets 🙂

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

Rostering of games for croquet has been sorted out with all players having copy of edition 3 @Cuddlebear Thank goodness

Teams start this coming week, my teams first game will be 9am on Wednesday.

there are 2 different types of controls that are used to operate model trains, difference depends of the wiring.

one control is not much more than, on, off and speed control. Other control is much more complicated, is comparable to a remote control with lot more functions. First one is not much more than ‘plug and play’, whereas the other one involves lots of programming.

I don’t have the skills required for the wiring aspect or the required knowledge to use the 2nd type of controller.

I first became interested in model trains in my 30’s, possibly 20’s. Lots to learn as the technology is always changing.

happy to chat and share whatever knowledge I have 🙂

Not much on my side. Just happy to be here to see everyone. @Flutterbug9

I didn't get up to much today. Did you? Are you managing your pain okay?

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

Sunday so lazy morning.

short walk to cinema where I live and watched the movie “The Choral”. Some there appeared to have enjoyed it, not my type of movie. Got me out of my place for couple hours though

only think I struggled bit with was leg muscles were not happy on the way home.

bit of pain in one shoulder plus some knuckles, not too bad though

whats on for you this coming week?

Hello lovely @Cuddlebear 💖

I can absolutely hear how much ongoing support that you're needing and I know how tough it is to obtain support when we have multiple diagnoses and needs. I can imagine that concerns around the heat impacting your symptoms as well as your guide dog's wellbeing would make things feel even more challenging. 😔

I wish we could all come and support you more in person, but please know that in our physical absence, we will always be here as your virtual support.

What have you been doing to care for yourself this week? 💛

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

Hey @Flutterbug9 ,

I haven't been to the cinemas in over 10 years! The last movie I watched at the cinemas was 'Frozen 2' - with a kid lol.

Fair enough the movie wasn't your type of movie. As you said, at least it got you out of the house for a bit. Actually, that's pretty cool you have cinemas a short walk from you. Trivial question: Do you get snacks for the movies?

Hope your pain eases a bit!

As for my week this week, it's not too hectic. I've got some computer work I need to complete as part of my volunteer work, but it's not hectic. I might even finish later tonight or tomorrow.

My youngest niece starts school sometime this week. That's probably the most exciting part. I want to get her a gift, but don't know what - she's got everything 🙂

Within the village I live in there are 2 large buildings used for lots of different activities, meeting etc. in one building there is a cinema. Different movie 2 days a week. Best of all, it’s free 🙂. No snacks or ice creams bought

your youngest niece, is that who I’ve seen referred to as Firecracker? Why Firecracker, if don’t mind my asking @tyme
