@Flutterbug9 Just saw your post from yesterday morning/midnight. Was the anniversary yesterday or today?
Either way - and extra dosage of hugs. Is it something you would like/benefit from talking about?
That is an unfortunately intro to "womenhood" @Flutterbug9 - I mean, it was practical but not very explanatory or empathetic from the sound of it.
Your description of getting housework done (but go you for doing it!! electrician phoned 😍) sounds similiar to what I hear some adhd people say. I can also be like that too - getting distracted - but I don't think I do it to the degree an adhd brain does. I think I usually only have 2-3 things going on at once. E.g. unpacking dishwasher, filling up drink bottles, doing dog eye drops (because they're stored in the fridge) -- all of which is because it is in the one location: kitchen!
My brain is often ahead of what I am thinking/saying too @Flutterbug9 ! As a child I spoke so fast trying to keep up with my brain lol, had to learn to slow it down. And now I forget when I was going to say because by the time I have slowed down my brain is already finished with thinking about that and now can't remember what it was going to say. At work I found I had to write down what I was thinking (responding) in meetings so that I could then remember what I needed to say when it was my turn to speak, so as not to interrupt.
Always-on brain is exhausting. Have you ever spoken to a doctor/psych about possible adhd? It sounds like what you are experiencing could be quite similar to adhd, just from people I know who have it explaining things. If you did have it, i wonder if medication or changes in how to self-manage could help at all? (thats what I see as the benefit of a diagnosis - understanding what may help).
Ah, just scrolled down and see that @Captain24 has also suggested chatting to someone about adhd too and relating to the experience. So good that you were able to get assessed and that the medication has helped @Captain24 😍. It really helped my ex too he said.
Fingers crossed you can bring it up with the pdoc in June @Flutterbug9
My understanding with the assessment forms is that someone who knew you well / observed a lot in childhood is ideal - because formal diagnosis of adhd requires that it was present in childhood (not just adulthood). If there is not a parent available, then possibly if there was a teacher you still know (often they will also ask for school reports if you have any, to see what comments may have been made that gives clues too! for children, teachers often fill out a survey), or perhaps a close family friend or school friend could be suitable. Otherwise they will go off what you know / remember / have been told I assume.
Must be so frustrating when feeling like you are busy all day and still not feel like you get much completed. 😢
@Flutterbug9 i'm wondering if there are any other teams/clubs that also play croquet that are in a close-enough location? It sounds really good to have as something to get you out of the house, but also the stress from not being listened to properly when raising a concern/query is not helping you right now.
Can I ask what it is about the rostering that is bothering you? (As always, you know it is OK not to answer also)
Lego sounds like a great wind-down and relax today @Flutterbug9 😍. Did the rest of them come in the post today? 😃
