Talking through trauma and PTSD

The me no one knows - SI warning

The me no one knows - SI warning

I’ve made this space to have somewhere safe to talk and share things.

to chat with every one who has shown concern about and for me.

I have spent almost all my life masking, from as far back as primary school (possibly younger).

almost no one knows the real me. Not sure if I even know the real me.

my past is filled with lots of darkness. People I’ve tried to speak with during my life either don’t believe me or don’t want to know

@AlwaysMyself @Bunniekins @Captain24 @Cuddlebear @rav3n @Jynx

hiding behind the mask pretending nothing is wrong. Putting on brave face whilst inside I’m a shattered pieces. Feeling lost and completely alone. No one wants anything to do with me. Relatives only contact when they want something. Going to bed every night hoping to never wake again

Sleep well @Flutterbug9 . Hearing how hard it is for you, and will be tomorrow. Let me know how I can help support tomorrow, and/or if you would like to chat about the feelings or memories of your dad, or if there is a way you/we can honour the memory of him?

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

I logged on due to things with Captain.

realised I’ve experienced similar behaviour with my late husband and am currently experiencing similar behaviour from a relative I’d become close to. They are/were both scared and struggling to deal with something of a physical nature.

I’m hoping I’m wrong and what we saw with Captain last night is not due to same thing.

so thankful you are here, that I’ve met you and am able to chat with you. Means a lot 💜🤗

hoping you had a restful night with Casper for company

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

@Flutterbug9 Thinking of you this morning.

I also find it sad/challenging sometimes when I see a person hurting and half-reaching-out (or not reaching out at all) and not wanting/able to accept/trust the offered opportunity for supports. There can be so many reasons behind the scenes for this, often due to past negative experiences that lead to lack of trust or hope, and protection responses.

I have learned that I cannot force someone to accept help; if they don't want it then I need to respect that decision. However, as you also do, I always offer the branch of support and encourage them to give a small try to "test it out" for safety.

I hope they do decide to return and keep posting for support when they need it. Or if not, access supports elsewhere that will help them. They deserve to be heard, to be supported in their challenges and celebrated in their achievements, and to feel safe and respected. I really hope they find this somewhere - whether it be here or elsewhere (or both).

@AlwaysMyself 2 life lessons I was taught at a young age and have stayed with me to current day

- my dad taught me to treat other people the way I want to be treated

- my maternal grandfather had a saying that comes down to, no one is better than anyone else with colour of skin, race and heritage being irrelevant. (Actual saying deemed not ‘politically’ correct now a days)

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

@Flutterbug9 it's so hard to know sometimes exactly what someone is going through and it's hard not being able to do much other than offer support and to listen/sit with them. I'm hoping she is ok, I've seen her online which is good and I'm sure she will post if/when she is ready.

I'm so glad to have met you here and grateful for every chat we get to have together ❤️.

I wasn't asleep until after 3am but me and Casper are just laying in bed enjoying snuggles.

How are you feeling sweet?

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

Those are two very good life lessons @Flutterbug9 😊. Also very relevant to my posts with Blackcloud today (don't want to tag people into your thread, unless you want them tagged).

I wish everyone held these 2 values and life rules.

I am now very curious what the phrasing is that isn't PC now (laughing). Gave me a smile to hear you say that their phrasing would not be PC now, so that is good. My imagination can think up creative ways of saying it instead lol.

As most mornings, I woke with my male telling me he wanted breakfast. I thought was later than 7am.

feeling flat, tired and no interest in doing anything.
been on the couch all morning with my male curled up beside me.

I left short post earlier and leaving things at that for awhile.

one plan for today (same as last few days) was to get vegies cut up, into bowls and into fridge. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow. Will be pack of shop bought frozen vegies and something today.

Casper cuddles in bed sounds nice. My female gets in bed for cuddles at times. Downside her claws go into my skin when she pads, not good combination with my SH.

you any plans for today?

how are you going with Lego Gizmo?
