General chit chat

General chit chat

Hi@Faith-and-Hope, @utopia, @Mazarita

I'm still not very good at 'navagating' this site, maybe that's why I kept trying 'instant' chat sites - they seemed easier. But I like that messages can be checked, that it's not instant feels like some sort of barrier against instant shock I suppose - though I know this is a public Internet site so anyone can use it. I also think, though I hate the term Mental Illness, as I think it takes all the physical out of it, that the people that cause trauma probably suffer from it, so they would have just as much right to use it. But I feel a bit like typing I think, so I thought I might just blurb a little?
I've went away for a few days. I go every month. I visit the center of my Universe 🙂 The one person who has been there with/for me, their whole life & I believe will remain that way until I die 🙂 . . . & quite the large Family they have provided for me to share in 🙂 I go from, it almost seems like another Planet sometimes, my life is very quiet; to the center of my Universe, which includes 5 grand-children ranging in age from almost 2 to, going on 18; then there's the partner, the partners Parents and a large variety of friends 🙂 I often find myself thinking 'alein sound dimension' - there's so much noise on so many different levels! Every single one of them has every gadget known to mankind, and most of those gadgets make noise! And my World is a lot calmer, with a lot less going on - we're usually driving in the car, taking children to school, doing whatever shopping is necessary for the day in time for whatever seemingly endless appointment is due, . . . by the time my alarm goes off to make sure I wake up in time to get tired in time to go to sleep in time 😄 There's no way I could keep that pace up anymore! After a few days I find myself almost running away with my tail between my legs 🙂 But it's the perfect balance really, I do spend a lot of time alone - apart from my 3 furry, four-legged friends; but I am extremely lucky, my bond with my only child is of a strength I can't see breaking; I get a phone call or text every night & welcomed by a dozen open arms and smiling faces every month. I am lucky, I have a good life. Well, I think life is just a word, neither good nor bad. I have good experiences and I am happy 🙂

Hi @MissG, good to see you. Great to hear your safety plans and strategies are developing. Good on you for managing to stay out of hospital. I hope you too continue to find meaning in your weekend.

Hi again, @Shaz51 and @outlander. I too find it inspiring how much you both get done!

Hi @Former-Member, 3.20am here, up in the middle of the night for a little while before going back to sleep. Imagining you are soon to get up and go camping. Thinking of what a liberating (and for me extremely challenging!) experience that would be. How exciting! Enjoy your rise at ugly-o-clock and the thrilling last minute preparations before heading out into the open spaces! Looking forward to hearing about it when you get back!

Hi @outlander, thanks for your kind response! Hope you are sleeping well as I write!

Re: General chit chat

Good night to all, I am exhausted, . . . but I did it! I went and wandered, slept and woke up on a Riverbank 🙂 It was absolutely perfect, as I was the only one there, the dogs and I had a pristine spot on a mighty River all to ourselves!!! 😄 🙂 😄 We'll go back to that one 🙂 Mind you, I need to work on my compacting of the packing - I take waaaaaaay too much stuff! The little fella's a mess of prickles, some large, some sharp, some tiny; the only way to fix him now is electic clippers 🙂 {But I'm sure he enjoyed getting all those prickles :)} The young fellas fast asleep on the recliner beside me now, I think he's had sufficiant runs and new smells and cow pats . . . and cows to go with those pats and swims {well, more like paddles around the shore}; we even had a big Roo jump out right in front of us at one stage - I do believe the dogs had heaps of fun. So it was prickley and quite cool at night (though the day was beautiful), but overall a complete success. I didn't have to see or talk to one person! . . . oh, I did have to go back into a store in a small town and ask directions, but other than that; I booked and paid for it online and didn't see the owners once 🙂

I am looking forward to sleeping in my bed tonight @Mazarita, @outlander, @Faith-and-Hope, @Shaz51

Re: General chit chat

Good morning @Mazarita, @outlander, @Faith-and-Hope, @Shaz51, @everybody:)

I'm feeling pretty darned good this morning, . . well my muscles are a little sore and my stomach's still a little upset; but I did just do something that I wasn't sure I'd ever do again! I don't go places I'm not familiar with and I just went to another state; when I get to my highway I usually turn right - that's the way to my little town, but this time I turned left and travel for a bit over 100 km, then turned left again and travelled for another 100 km or so - I was well and truly outside my familiar zone. I saw heaps of new, different things; like towards the other end of the journey there was one of those super high tractors on the highway, from a distance it looked like a giant 'H' driving along the road; as I approached it, it just straddled the guide posts and let me pass 🙂 And for the first half of the journey I didn't go past another house, shop or anything, then (luckily) after the one service station, there was nothing again until I got there - I went bush baby! 🙂 It was wonderful!!

Though it doesn't feel like I've done it now, it's hard to explain it's like it wasn't real. But I've got the sore muscles, churning tummy and a car full of crap to unload to prove it! 🙂 and I have taken photographs, I have to do that to really prove to myself that I did actually do it, that it wasn't something in my head. I'll pick some out and post them. I hope everyone's had some smiles the past couple of days, I certainly have 🙂

Good morning @Former-Member

You did it! I seem to remember in your early posts on the forum, you described going on a solo camping trip as something you wanted to do, but at that time it seemed a long distance away from what you could take on. And now you have achieved what you wanted and will be doing it again. Go girl! High five! These words of mine don't convey how profound a challenge you have overcome. It's simply awesome. Great to hear you sounding pretty darn good after it! Hope that feeling stays with you for ages now.

Morning hugs all round!
