@REDLINEZ750 I'm trying to make my own little space. Sometimes I realize there is no personal space on here. I know it's for our good but it kinda sucks at times! Are you okay?

A quiet, muted morning with no visible sunrise, just grey skies and stillness. Even so, there’s a steady sense that the sun is still there, hidden behind the clouds. The heaviness lingers, but it isn’t final. Light is simply out of sight for now, not gone. Hope remains in the patience of waiting, trusting that the sunrise will break through again in its time.

@heartathome I love the photo but even more so, I love what you wrote. It is the sense of being hopeful and resting in the knowledge that even though we can't see it, we know the sun is there.
I hope you have a blessed day xoxo

My old partner of 20 years has been taken in for emergency surgery for a perforated bowel. He's in an induced coma. He also has sepsis and is in a bad way. The doctors have said that he may not make it. I feel nothing at the moment! I'm going up the coast to see him tomorrow. Seeing him in ICU might change things. Feelings may come then. 😔

An update with the information we have from the doctors so far regarding my partner.
Dad became critically unwell at some stage very early this morning and was taken to ***** ****** Hospital. They discovered he had a perforation in his small bowel, meaning part of the intestine had ruptured/leaked into the abdomen, which caused a very severe infection and sepsis.
His blood pressure was dangerously low when he arrived, and he went into septic shock. The doctors took him into emergency surgery to try to repair the bowel and clean out the infection.
At the moment he is in ICU in a medically induced coma on full life support. He is on a ventilator to help him breathe and is requiring strong ICU medications to keep his blood pressure and circulation going. The doctors have explained that at this stage he is dependent on this support to stay alive.
The ICU team are giving him the maximum treatment and support they can at this stage, including the highest levels of medication needed to try to maintain his blood pressure and organ function.
His kidneys have also started shutting down due to the severity of the sepsis, and they are closely monitoring all of his organ function.
Because the infection and swelling in the abdomen were so severe, the surgeons have temporarily left his abdomen open with a special vacuum-assisted dressing (VAC dressing). This helps remove infected fluid and reduce swelling, and they will monitor whether things improve enough for them to safely close him up later.
They have also inserted a large line into his groin (a central line) so they can safely give the strong medications he needs and monitor him more closely.
The doctors have said Dad is not in pain and is in a deep sleep due to the sedation and ICU support.
At this stage the doctors are saying the next 24–72 hours are very critical. They are continuing full treatment and monitoring him hour by hour, but they have also prepared the family that he is extremely unwell and the situation is very serious. 🙏

Hi @heartathome ,
Sorry that I have been slow to see your news.
May God grant you safe travels and wisdom and strength. May He hold you while you're numb and as the whirlpool of emotions open up. May God's Will be done.
You're in my thoughts and prayers.
