Self care by growing a garden

Self care by growing a garden

A SOS to any green thumbs out there

I have always found gardening to be therapeutic and it has given me great joy. However, after a major crisis with Mr Darcy's health I have not had been able to get back into it. Have other gardeners suffered from a similar hiatus and how have you recovered and got going again?

Darcy

PS have a spot that needs filling any recommendations for a 1m high cool climate white flower plant?

Funny & believable @Smc Yet not so funny, because people actually do things like that...

If I was the gardener who planted those Hibiscus cuttings, I would have been tempted to do something to his mower...

Poor hibiscus cuttings, they didn't stand a chance...

@Shaz51 @Smc must be a gardening day.

We stopped in at a nursery today wanting to get some Japanese windflowers (anemone) and were delighted to find not only did they have the desired plants but they had an autumn sale on too. We were able to get 3 buddleia at better than half price - enough to finish a hedge that had gaps in it, a red salvia and a liquidamber tree.

After lunch we got out into the yard, shovel in hand and all plants are now in situ in terra firma.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Slowly getting my gardening mojo back. Today Mr D whipper snipped, I mowed, pruned a bit off here and there and started to think about how we can get the place looking good without being high maintenance ... crisis proof being the motto.

Bought 4 x natives at an Autumn fair yesterday, a wattle, 2 x hakeas and a banksia. We planted them out today, hoping they will thrive on neglect.
