~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@MissGremlin I did recently add in one other location on my social housing application (when I went back to edit it) that is NOT within any of the surrounding suburbs that my mum has told me to put otherwise, so that’s the only thing that I did regarding that. But yeah, I guess we’ll see by the time that that comes.

It sucks having a mother acting like she has the ability to control my choices rather than actually caring for me like she always claims to be. It’s even frustrating how she wants me to suck it up too even though she’s already aware of the specific issues I have -_-

@lonemushroom I'm sorry you haven't been having a great day, I can relate to those feelings well. It's great you've been trying to remember those techniques but I do know how hard it can be in the moment. Also well done for pulling out the self care tools, it's so important to take care of ourselves when things are so tough. It's ok that you haven't left your house much this year, the world can be an overwhelming place. I'm hoping you have a lovely Christmas period no matter what happens, whether you spend it at home or get to see your extended family, just know that no matter what we will always be here for you ❤️.

I have been struggling alot myself for a while now, just trying to keep pushing through the best I can. No need to apologise it's totally ok, we all have lives outside of the forums ☺️

@Blackcloud I'm really glad you chose to put another suburb down, hoping that whatever happens with housing that it all works out for you.

I hear you sweet and i can relate to you so much with this. I can't say much on here about it though due to my safety.

@MissGremlin thanks so much lovely you’re so kind, I always enjoy talking to you when I do manage to come on here ❤️

even functioning regularly and establishing a daily routine has been incredibly hard for me this year really, so if I can try to just achieve small self care goals one baby step at a time then I’ll be happy with that I think. I don’t know that I can set a deadline for getting to that point in time for Christmas but luckily my family is kinda understanding of my conditions just enough so that I can always go visit at a later time when I’m not as unwell.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas too no matter how you are spending it 💗 I’m sorry you’ve been struggling a lot lately as well

@lonemushroom awww thankyou, i always love chatting to you aswell sweet ❤️.

I hear you, you are doing so well and taking things one baby step at a time sounds perfect. I'm really glad that your family is kinda understanding so that visiting can always be done at another time if need be.

Thankyou, I'm not really celebrating Christmas this year, things are too different and it just really hurts.

@MissGremlin no worries at all my friend, absolutely no pressure at all about not being able to reveal some stuff due to privacy reasons, I completely understand that ❤️

I hope the rest of this evening is going ok for you at least my friend 🙂
