~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@Taali quit when you are ready. I quit several times because my GP or ex partner or someone told me I should and I never succeeded. You will quit when you know it's time.

I tried patches, cold turkey and the stop smoking medication and all failed. The last time I tried I did the medication again and because I wanted to stop it worked. It's been 4 years now. I also attribute it to my faith as well but not everyone agrees with that view 😉

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@MissGremlin hi beautiful, how is your Thursday going? I have put dinner in the slow cooker and sent off an email to Open Arms to request counselling, now I am going through emails and trying to motivate myself to make an appointment to see the vet (GP). The last time I saw him he wanted me to have bloods done again, plus I am so tired all the time.

I swear I could set up a caffeine drip and I'd still be sleepy!

Hope there are shiny bits in the day for you xoxo

@ENKELI I'm going to tag you over in my thread for how I'm going.

What's for dinner tonight sweet? Hoping you can get some support sweet as you deserve it. Some blood tests would be a good idea, the sleepiness situation may have an easy solution.

@MissGremlin thanks honey. Slow cooked beef and red wine, except I used beef stock in lieu of red wine. I also added extra veggies.

Will pop over to your thread xo

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Thanks for the affirmation @ENKELI ,

I saw my mental health support worker today who is actually a reformed smoker, she agreed that even though smoking is bad for my physical health now is not the time do "ditch the durries"

I'm still recovering from surgery and my last psychiastric hospital

admission.

Well done 👏 you for managing 4 years your own way!!

Go well, Taali
