Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

I really resonate with this one from Ravenwolf.

I know I can’t go back and rewrite the past.

So I made peace with it instead.

With the regrets…

The moments I wish I had handled differently.

The times I tried too hard to prove I was worth loving.

I spent so long chasing people who never truly saw me.

Trying to convince them I was enough.

Settling for half-hearted love from those who never deserved all of me.

And somewhere in that…

I lost my voice.

I apologized for who I was.

Shrank myself to fit what others wanted.

Because back then…

I wasn’t strong enough yet to stand fully in who I was.

Unapologetic.

Unbreakable.

It hurt every time they walked away.

Every time I was left holding the pieces.

And I thought it was me.

I questioned everything.

Was I enough?

Was I too much?

What did I do wrong?

Why was I always the one rebuilding from the wreckage?

But I see it clearly now.

I was never the problem.

I was just loving the wrong people.

Giving everything to those who couldn’t even meet me halfway.

They didn’t see me.

Didn’t value me.

Didn’t choose me.

And that made me feel small…

In ways that took years to undo.

I look back sometimes and wish I had spoken up more.

Walked away sooner.

Loved myself harder.

But those mistakes…

They led me back to where I needed to be.

Back to me.

Back to my truth.

Back to the woman I almost lost trying to be everything for everyone else.

I learned the hard way.

Through heartbreak.

Through disappointment.

Through letting go of illusions I once believed were love.

But those lessons?

They gave me clarity.

They showed me what I will never accept again.

And what I deserve.

Now… I choose differently.

I choose myself.

I choose peace.

I choose the people who see me, value me and love me without condition.

And if someone can’t meet me there?

I let them go.

Without guilt.

Without hesitation.

Because I finally understand my worth.

Heartache didn’t destroy me.

It cracked me open.

Let the light find its way in.

And from that…

I became something stronger.

Something real.

I am beautifully broken.

Wonderfully unique.

And perfectly imperfect…

Exactly as I was always meant to be.
