~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Some more great words from Ravenwolf
I opened my eyes this morning and felt the weight of a year that tried its best to break me.
It has not been an easy road.
Last year tested me in ways I never expected, pushing me harder than I ever thought I could endure.
There were moments when I wasn’t sure I had the strength for it.
Moments when I doubted whether I could keep moving forward.
But I did.
I showed up anyway. I gave everything I had.
And no matter how heavy the day felt… I never quit.
Because the truth is, life isn’t only about the destination or the victories we hope for.
Sometimes the real wisdom is hidden in the journey itself...in the scars, the bruises, and the quiet lessons we learn along the way.
And every single one of those moments taught me something.
I learned that I’m stronger than I believed when everything inside me said I wasn’t.
I learned that a person can break… and still keep moving forward.
Now I know something I didn’t fully understand before: I can handle whatever life throws my way, no matter how overwhelming it may look in the moment.
Will I be the best at everything?
Probably not.
But that was never the point.
I’ll stumble.
I’ll fail more times than I succeed.
And yet, I’ll keep trying.
I may not always be the best at showing love, but when I love… I give it with everything I have.
Wherever this path takes me, I’ve learned to slow down and notice the beauty scattered through my life ... the small moments, the quiet victories, and the lessons waiting to be understood.
I’ve also learned something just as important: I don’t have to be okay all the time.
It’s alright to pause.
It’s alright to breathe.
It’s alright to take time for myself.
Because loving who I am...and who I’m becoming...matters more than anything else.
Yes, last year was hard.
But it was also a year of growth. A year of lessons. A year that shaped me in ways I never expected.
Instead of dwelling on everything that went wrong, I’ve started celebrating what went right.
Sometimes the answers we need appear in the most unexpected places… and sometimes through people we never saw coming.
So no, I may never be a rock star in every corner of my life.
And that’s okay.
Because what truly matters is this: In my own mind, in my own heart… I’m a superstar.
And I’m proud of the person I’m becoming.
A small smile finds its way across my face as I climb out of bed, ready to face another day.
Because I know something now that I didn’t always believe before.
I can do anything I set my mind to.
Starting with conquering today.
Maybe it will be hard.
Maybe it will be easy.
Either way, it won’t change one simple truth:
I’ve got this. And I always will.
So come on, life.
I’m ready.
