~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Thank you @Honeymoon I am seeing my daughter tomorrow and I am going to give her the 1800RESPECT number in case she needs it.

I can't believe that he kicked his dog at one point and my daughter was so upset she told her well being social worker at school and she reported it. That night the police knocked on his door and had a stern talking to.

Content/trigger warning
To which he told our daughter if she ever told on him again, he would punch her in the face.

But 3 separate reports have been made about the treatment of my daughter, and so far I have not seen any repercussions for his actions. I don't get it.

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Glad to hear you are planning to share it with her lovely. I would also encourage you to reach out to the 1800RESPECT number yourself for advice and support.

Your daughter may also wish to contact Kids helpline (24 Hrs) 1800 55 1800.

Sending strength and know that you are never alone, and you don't have to go through this alone either💓

I will never pretend it was easy.
Being knocked down that many times changes you.
The days when I thought I wouldn’t make it.
The moments when it felt like everyone I trusted let me down.
The decisions that seemed to come back and hurt more than once.
Those are the scars I carry.
Not hidden.
Not forgotten.
Always a reminder.
But the pain that tried to break me never finished the job.
The failures.
The heartbreak.
The anguish that threatened to tear me apart...
they forged something stronger instead.
They hardened me.
They woke something fierce inside me.
I think about those scars often.
They are reminders of darker roads I once walked.
Of nights I thought would never end.
And every time I see them, I make the same promise to myself.
Never stay down.
Never surrender.
Never stop believing in the person staring back at me.
I won’t tell you it gets easier.
Pain doesn’t magically hurt less just because you’ve survived it before.
Every fall still hurts.
Every climb still burns.
Even now, after clawing my way out of rock bottom more than once,
the battle is real.
It always has been.
But I keep climbing.
Step by step.
Storm by storm.
I used to hope for easier days.
More sunshine.
Fewer battles.
Now I understand something deeper.
The struggle was shaping me for something greater.
Preparing me for heights I couldn’t have reached any other way.
Every morning I look into the mirror and face the truth of who I’ve become.
Every scar.
Every bruise.
Every reminder of the fire I survived.
And I tell myself the same thing—
it was worth it.
I didn’t walk through those flames just to quit now.
I didn’t survive the pain to shrink from the future.
Every disappointment.
Every betrayal.
Every wound someone left behind...
they became fuel.
Fuel for the fire that keeps me moving forward.
Fuel for the wings that keep lifting me higher.
Nothing will pull me off this path now.
I know what I’m capable of.
I know what I can endure.
Bring on the fire.
Because my spirit burns hotter than anything life throws at me.
It took time to understand this truth.
Pain passes.
Healing comes eventually.
And the struggle does not define me unless I let it.
Now I face every challenge head on.
Every heartbreak.
Every storm.
Yes, it hurts.
Yes, sometimes it lingers.
But I always fight my way through.
I always rise.
I am not just someone who survived.
I am someone who thrived from it.
A warrior heart.
An iron will.
A soul that refuses to break.
And I’ve got this.
I always will.
