~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Seems like a dream @MissGremlin

iv started an embroidery and I’m not quite there to do the embroidery

but almost. I was thinking of if I just did 5 stitches every day I could just get little bits of it done.

@PeppyPatti that sounds tricky sweet. Even just doing a few stitches each day and slowly but surely you'll get it done ☺️

Hello @Mustang67

That is a valid point that you raised about your partner struggling with you standing up for yourself at times

I have experienced this myself in my own life with different family members

We might be ready to finally look after ourselves first after a lifetime of being further down the line.

This does not mean that those who are comfortable with us looking out for them are happy for our strength though.

They have to adjust themselves as they too need to put themselves first.

How they do that and if they make the effort is another matter of course.

We still stand strong in our renewal of us

We can attempt to talk it through with them if they are willing to listen.

My husband is far better now although it has taken him quite some time.

Worth the wait.

Some family members are put out. That is their issue not mine.

All the best

Sophia

Be proud and

@MissGremlin I love your rational reminders.

I’m glad my grandchildren never have to see that American Ultra-Hype, Ring-the-Bell, motivation culture. It’s cringeworthy, and embarrassing enough to bring tears to the eyes.

Hello sweet @Glisten, totally get what you mean. Definitely cringeworthy.

How was your day sweetheart?

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@MissGremlin Grems, this afternoon, it got so hot 🥵 that I sat in the sheep 🐑 water trough and had a hat-shower to get all the dust off me. Then pushed a wheelbarrow full of branches to the drop pile.

But in the morning I fixed the wheelbarrow. A nut 🔩 and bolt had been lost and never replaced. I couldn’t stand the rattling noise.

Tonight I took the Kelpies out for Nachos and they had a little Blueberry muffin for dessert.

More importantly what have you been doing?

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@Glisten oh sweet, it sounds like it got very hot, glad you found a way to cool down and dust off.

I can just imagine how annoying the rattling noise would have been on the wheelbarrow, you're so clever at fixing things ☺️.

Awww i bet the kelpies enjoyed that, a blueberry muffin for dessert sounds delicious 😋.

Yesterday I did a little bit of housework but it took everything out of me. Today I'm laying on my lounge just trying to rest after a rough night.

What's on for you today sweetheart?
