~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

One from my favourite author Ravenwolf.

There’s a version of her that most people never see.

It’s the one that learned a long time ago how to keep going no matter how she felt.

The one that figured out how to keep it all together without anyone noticing her battles.

People call her strong.

She'll just shrug at that.

She just does what she has to do.

But strong wasn’t something she tried to become.

It was something she grew into quietly , because she didn't have another option.

She didn’t wake up one day brave, she just did what she had to do.

She just kept getting back up, kept going.

Even on the days she wanted to stay down.

Even when her voice cracked.

Even when no one cared.

Especially then.

Her strength isn’t in your face, loud and showy.

She doesn't care about proving herself or people noticing.

It’s in the way she is silently strong.

The way she regroups privately.

The way she refuses to let the hardest chapters define her whole story.

And if you look closely,

you’ll see that what people admire now about her.

She was forged in the fires that she never thought she’d make it through.

Strong, quiet, unassuming.

Free, passionate and beautiful,

Just the way she is.

@Bunniekins some very wise words. I especially like the last one, as it is so true for me over the past 7 years.

I try not to care what people think of me @TAB . Was about to water garden when we got a heavy shower. Hoping for more rain.

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@Mustang67 @Bunniekins both your posts & pics are very relatable. I also particularly like the pic about "never lose" because of learning. And its kinda nice to read the text and pic about being someone who just quietly found a way and kept going because there wasnt another option - sounds a lot like me.
