~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Oh @Cuddlebear hearing you about the forum being quieter. I also am pulling back a little, and not logging on daily, as I was for a while. In some small ways I am feeling supported socially, however there are also bigger issues, and losses I have to endure, involving legal stuff for a loved one. I am devastated that the world has been so harsh to him, but have to keep plowing on.

Have a felt the tapering has settled a bit. Did you ever look at the taper clinic.

https://www.youtube.com/@taperclinic

It would be still hard as meds penetrate the fibre of our total being. Take care of you.

@PeppyPatti lovely to keep seeing you over all these years. Yes, my mother did not care if I was being bullied, it was part of the reason I left home young. She never cared, although we did put her on a pedestal. I have made excuses for her, and forgiven and all that, but the consequences for the ongoing family are not good. So now, I feel I was premature in my forgiving, and should have been more vocal and strong about it, and less conciliatory. I just cant help the way I am wired.

@Bunniekins @MissGremlin @Rosepetal96 Hey ho

@Mustang67 yes, we dont know how the queen really looked at the end. Still its good to have closure on certain things, and maybe thats how it can be accepted?

@Appleblossom Hello lovely how are you?

I am glad that in some ways you’ve been feeling more supported socially. That makes me happy for you. I’m sorry about these legal issues. It’s hard with this stuff but I’m really hoping you get a good outcome.

I am still tapering. It’s difficult. I’ve seen a few things re taper clinic. Some good advice but most of the things they suggest are not available where I am. But it has helped me to understand why the taper is so brutal.

What do you have on today?

@MissGremlin Hello lovely how are you? I’m doing my best with the overwhelm. All the affirmations are so good.

@Cuddlebear

yes, there is one thing reading and being theoretical about it, tapering, and another feeling, living and experiencing it, on and on. take care

I have an online psychologist and support worker coming.

An online meeting about "abolitionist perspectives" through a MH practitioner network

and a support worker, with who we wil go to a meal with, with my son. however this support worker is going back to his country of origin for a few months so i dont want my son to get too attached, as i am not sure how committed he is to Australia. I just cant believe how much overseas travel people do these days. It feels excessive, and habitual, even addictive, when many struggle with cost of living issues. I loved travel in my younger years, and went away for a year, so I can see value in opening one's eyes to othe cultures and geography, but not left the counry in over 40 years.
