~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Hi @MissGremlin @Jynx @tyme @PeppyPatti @Jacques and others here. Thanks for all of the positive and supportive comments regarding my updates! Very much appreciated!

Thanks for sharing the affirmations and images @MissGremlin!

@Jacques I love the phoenix quote! Thank you for sharing this here. It has given me a positive reminder of how strong and resilient they are and given me hope as to what I could be.

I went and saw my new uni accommodation yesterday and although it was a little different to how I imagined it would be, I’m certain I’ll be able to make it work. The bedroom is a little smaller but it’ll be okay. The student accommodation staff member tried to tell my housemate and myself we have to limit the amount of things we bring into our bedrooms as they believe all we have to do is eat, sleep and study and pass uni basically which I know from past uni life experience is wrong and therefore no things other than food, clothing and study essentials. I’m sorry to say but as part of my mental health wellbeing, I will be bringing my craft supplies with me, including my 3 bags of wool as I’m not going to just study all the time and burn out or land in the local hospital mental health unit which means I won’t be studying and attending uni so accommodation services can cop it sweet and accept this. I’m lucky that the local pool and gym complex is next to my accommodation so I’m planning on checking it out and maybe doing a weekly aqua aerobics session to help with my uni life balance and try to remain healthy to handle all of the uni demands. The final move is on Monday so this weekend is full of final packing and tidying up. I did get rid of my car today to pay for some other uni expenses as well which was good so that’s 1 less thing to worry about. The uni is accessible via public transport to the local shops and the student accommodation is 10 minutes walk across the road and into the uni campus so I’ll be improving my fitness the in the next 12 months at least!

Last night I chilled out in front of the tv and watched the 2 Mighty Ducks movies which was on which I really enjoyed. Afterwards, I did a word puzzle and wrote in my journal as part of my wellbeing resolution I’m working on this year. I also looked through my 4 new puzzle books I purchased yesterday as well which was really interesting and rewarding- my new self care passion and relaxation strategy I’m now using.

Take care!

Thankyou @MissGremlin

I so love my favourite snack I had when I was a very little girl. I snuck into the kitchen pick up one of those horrible apples 🍎 mum used to buy for our snacks cut it up and pour.a tiny bit of cream on it take it to bed and gobble it down.
