~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@MissGremlin , likewise. I felt a bit overwhelmed and exhausted this afternoon after work. I worked a bit longer today and it's a big adjustment after having 4 months leave of absence.

I was hearing when you randomly cry it's your trauma healing... because you're at a point where you can feel a sense of "normality" again .

I did not like that. I named the emotion and tried to sit with it though. My foot is hurting too 😫

@Rosepetal96 can imagine it would be exhausting and overwhelming after having 4 months leave of absence. It will take time to adjust again, but you'll get there, just be gentle with yourself while you are adjusting ❤️.

Yeah I'm not sure if I particularly like that term either, crying can happen for many reasons.

Proud of your for naming the emotion and sitting with it, that's not always easy to do. Hope your foot feels better soon ❤️

Wow @Blackcloud @you really know yourself.
🧡🌿💝

however I feel

that forgiving yourself when you hated yourself maybe : it could be weird to give yourself a break ?
in the scheme of things brothers and sisters have bullied each other for years.

I understand what your saying however

isn’t important that you don’t today ?? Because you write so eloquently and raw at the same time

as well as writing about your your ‘ faults’ or your behaviour it feels genuine time to move differently ? To be joyful inside yourself too ?

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Thank you for your kind words, @MissGremlin 🤗. I guess a lot has happened in the time between when I last worked before my injury and who I am today. So I have changed in quite a few ways, some maybe for the better, I feel like I'm probably a bit stronger than I was before all of this, minor things like all the kids crying in unison used to set me off but that is a piece of cake now in retrospect to all the situations I've been through...

Thank you for reminding me to be gentle with myself, it is indeed important I set aside time to take care of myself as well, not just trying to replicate the former self I was 😅😅😅 I do know realistically maybe that's not quite possible, but I'm working on getting my best foot forward.

Today after work I bought two blocks of dark chocolate and I decided to have a decaf mocha with my dinner because I felt I needed that 😅

@Rosepetal96 I'm sorry for the late reply, I somehow missed this post.

It sounds like some of these changes have been really positive which is fantastic.

You are doing well sweet, one foot in front of the other and you'll get there.

A decaf mocha with dinner sounds lovely and I reckon ☺️.

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

I am so stoked they developed decaf for these things. I have been really craving a caramel latte decaf I got on holiday a few weeks back, and haven't been able to locate it since, maybe I will find it today! 🤞 @MissGremlin
