Re: disclosing very uncomfortable information

Is there anything that you enjoy doing to relax or unwind a bit @Former-Member? Or something other than SH you can do that might release some of that pressure (a walk/exercise/write etc)?

Re: disclosing very uncomfortable information

It definitely is a very difficult thing to deal with and it's great to hear you know it isn't your fault.

Re: disclosing very uncomfortable information

i still think its partly my fault 😞 @Former-Member

i dont think ill ever get rid of that but i can reduce the fact that i think that.

at the moment im also dealing with another diagnosis so it really hard to concentrate on anything at the moment. when i went to my podiatrist today i was told two of my main ligaments in my foot are done in and they may never heal so i might have to deal with this constant pain for the rest of my life unless im on continuous pain relief

Re: disclosing very uncomfortable information

Hi scared, Wow! THANK YOU for sharing this with us, well, with me! PLEASE< PLEASE< PLEASE don't ever be ashamed for what happened to you. You are an incredible person, and this was NEVER EVER YOUR FAULT! I, too was sexually abused as a child. We are in this TOGETHER. We are strong. YOU are strong! Look how many great coping skills you have already had to be able to cope with this horrible crime against you! And now that you have revealed your truth openly, your journey into full recovery begins. I don't know whether you like to pray, but just pray for the courage and the strength to get through just this day. Are you doing ok just now?

Re: disclosing very uncomfortable information

Can you allow yourself the gift not to self harm just for tonight? Self harm is just another way of feeling. It is complex. I used to self harm, too-alot, yes every day for many years. But your pain CAN end, and your self harm can end, too. As a suggestion, the next time you feel like self harming, instead, just sit quietly with yourself and ground yourself in the present. Imagine taking care of your younger self and giving yourself a giant hug. And there's no judgment. Please go gently tonight. You're reaching out here is a wonderful new way for you to self care! Yes, you ARE self caring right now! You are changing. Thank you for the gift of your outreach!

Re: disclosing very uncomfortable information

There's absolutely nothing to feel embarrassed about. These reactions are normal for people who have suffered this kind of abuse. You have alot on your plate at the moment with many things, so...just 15 minutes at a time, eh?

Re: disclosing very uncomfortable information

Sounds like you're going through a lot all at once @Former-Member and it's ok to be feeling how you're feeling.

Do you like writing or anything crafty?

I shall be away from the computer for a while, but are you ok just now? Keep writing, chat with anyone who posts that makes you feel heard. You are doing something quite amazing just now. I'll keep giving you compliments even if you don't think you're doing so well. Just let all of us give you a GIANT group hug tonight!
