Yes @DownMoreThanUp I share your cynicism about politicians. Still better Labor than the other mob in my opinion. Politicians learn to love wealth too much. Yes minorities miss out in democracy but I prefer it to authoritarian countries. You have no freedom in those and the people are even more cynical and dissolusioned. The strong use their power for personal aggrandizement all to often.

@Appleblossom I understand your politics. With small business people they’re ok but their politics can really suck. I have my sympathies with buddhism but more with indigenous attitudes to life, community and the environment. I had days of poverty too. In my day you could participate in campus activities because I didn’t have to pay hecs. That’s cause I’m old ha ha.

@DownMoreThanUp I’m in Adelaide. Yes some small businesses struggle. I don’t believe ordinary workers are middle class. Only small business owners are middle class. Waged workers are working class. The corporates and millionaires/billionaires are the big bourgeois oligarchs. I’m very radical in my politics.

@GezzaP Yes who wants authoritarian governments? However democracy is becoming more and more in its likeness. Simply observing the Jeffery Epstein debacle tells me politicians are all bought, and MUST do as their Masters tell them. So our so called freedom in The West is as illusionary as my hallucinations i reckon.

Hoops i might get into big trouble saying this.🤣

@DownMoreThanUp I agree with you. As truthful as my psychosis. We’ll get in trouble for talking politics. Oh well.

@GezzaP Nowadays not all waged workers are working class i do not think. i know that some of the wage earners earn so much it puts most a small business owners to shame.

Many CEO's for example, or other highly skilled or in demand workers, skilled wage earners we may find working in the mines for example, or for other big corporations, are often on massive pay checks.

Ever since bargaining for wages has come around, there have been some wage earners that earn a bomb every year. (This is always high lighted when criticism to the system is voiced.) While the majority of the wage earners misses out of course, and sadly have seen a real down turn in income considering the housing cost nowadays. i do know there are many more homeless people on the streets today than when i walked the those streets in my day. Which i reckon neither liberal nor labour have done anything more about than tokenism, just as they so often do with the indigenous people of this land.

Just my two bob worth!

It can be a bit tricky getting into politics here @GezzaP @DownMoreThanUp We definitely don't have a "no politics" rule, as so much of what we talk about here is inherently political, but it can sometimes be difficult to have certain political chats while still maintaining an open and inclusive space. And while we do love a bit of dark humour here, we weren't able to publish the image that went along with your post @DownMoreThanUp, as it may have crept over to into the too dark category.

Appreciate getting to see these open and honest chats on here though!

Re: Fancy a cuppa , Connect now 2

@DownMoreThanUp I get what you mean about some well paid workers they are the exception that proves the rule for everyone else. The situation of non-working and indigenous peoples even worse. Homelessness is a national disgrace. Agree neither side of politics has seriously tackled these issues. Still better Labor than Coalition if you ask me. Wish we were more like Scandanavia and Finland.

@Ru-bee Sorry i know was being sarcastic and dark. And i didn't think too deeply about possible consequences even though i joked about them with that image.🤔
