@avant-garde so much of this resonates with me hun. I know it's hard to see a future when you are in survival mode for so long. I can see you still have hopes for the future, having your book and short story published, wanting a boyfriend, owning your own house, wanting to get NDIS. These are all very achievable things and i have every faith in you that you will get there. Just wanted to send some hugs your way 🩵

I... just after last year the idea of any of this, especially a how feels so out of reach that it hurts...

I agree with @RebelliousAngel, @avant-garde 💛
You have so much talent, you're a gorgeous, honest writer.
I have no doubt you will find a human for you when the time is right.
Owning your own home and accessing NDIS is also very possible.
I know that trauma makes these things feel hard, because they don't feel like safe or accessible experiences yet... but slow, small steps towards these things are what makes them possible. And we are so, so happy (and fortunate) to be a part of this journey with you.
Celebrate your small wins so that these dreams can unfold, we will be here for you and with you as they do. 🥰

I keep thinking of my church, the church I love and adore and even they think I'll never own a house so why save for a deposit, it was their excuse to not help me last year "she's got savings" and when I was honest about it being for a house they said to just be realistic, that it's not like I'll be able to achieve that...

@avant-garde i can truly understand how it would feel that way. But you are remarkable for being the wonderful person you are today despite everything you've been through. I've been reading through your 'running' thread and I'm up to page 31, I feel the pain of what you've gone through, I've cried reading your story, but I hear the strength behind your words, I hear the fight you have to not be silenced and to create a world where you feel safe, seen and heard. We are with you all the way, to share the pain, to cheer you on and to celebrate every win no matter how small along the way 🩵

I moved a couple of months ago and hadn't used my bike in 12+ months, but I inflated the tyres and rode it down the long driveway my house is on in between showers, just to get used to it again.
My next goal is to ride to the nearby shops.
