From a non bird person do you think they are like homing pigeons like they could fly back to their owners or likely escaped for good?

hahs they had me confused for a bit cos they were seen randomly but I was thinking I don’t think these are native I had never seen them before lol!

there was two of them which was nice to know they had each other.

over the last couple of months:

 a crimson finch, doesn’t look like the pic came out well at all but how cool are there colours so hard to get pics of them such flighty birds

 I liked these guys until I saw what it caught for dinner 🤯, I edited out so it wasn’t to gory lol but he had a frog 🐸 , nature at its finest lol

Ahh I see! I find walks so regulating actually, I really do enjoy them. Your mums yard sounds like a lovely place to walk around being a big property however I think small walks to where you feel comfortable is key, building ever so slowly. Sometimes it isn’t even the length or distance you need to walk just a step outside and there’s always things to see I think, the more I have paid attention the more I have really noticed. Walks are so calming. Sometimes stillness in a chair- in the breeze/sun fresh air is also amazing, sometimes being still can attract birds also so definitely benefits anywhere you look 😉, definitely no loss stepping outside distance doesn’t matter 😎. Let me know of your adventures, would love to hear what you notice 🙏. You have a professional camera too, that’s awesome! I hear what you say with the phone being lighter aswell. Well you just never know maybe the camera will make an appearance ☺️

Yeah, I cooked a green chicken curry! I haven’t cooked a curry in so so long use to good curries regularly. What did you use to like cooking? Sorry your back has been playing up so much that you haven’t been able to cook as much 😕. I hope you can get back into cooking sometime soon 🙏

the physio and exercise plan sounds good let me know how that all goes if you want it definitely sounds like your back has been holding you back with things and I hope when you can get some relief you will be able to do some of the things you use to enjoy.

My daughter is like a beacon for animals. Now in her late 30s nothing has changed. Native Bees nest in her garden, and she built nests for the native doves under the house eaves.

I’ll have my work cut out for me if she ever buys a farm.

@DownMoreThanUp Thanks for sharing with us, it would have been devastating seeing Zeta go. I can hear how hard that was for you and your wife. It takes tremendous courage to do what you both did, give her to a loving home that you know she’ll be safe. I can see how worried you were with her getting out and a bit of a toll on you having to stay outside, she did like to get up to mischief didn’t she!
I really hope beautiful shadow stays home I can see how much she means to you. She is a beautiful looking dog that’s for sure.

I hear you had some progress with how things were going but recently you have felt pretty down. It’s a massive thing to have to give away a pet you loved it is definitely understandable that you are feeling so much right now. Sane community are here with you, you are not alone.

@Adge yes, they certainly are all gorgeous.

I used to have budgies and canaries. I like listening to the sounds that birds make. I loved having my canary. My first one was yellow, and the second one was orange. I would find their singing very relaxing.

At one stage my previous previous partner started building an aviary as he wanted to put a variety of birds in there. I remember he definitely talked about getting some zebra finches. But then he started researching what bird can go together and read that they attract mice, which then attract snakes. And since my cat was bitten by a brown snake, he didn't want to do anything to attract more snakes. Where we were living backed on to a natural reserve, and the snakes could obviously get onto our property.. So the project was abandond. Lol
