after 40 years !!
ide LOVE  to study a degree one unit a year. That’s all I could do.

So I studied years and years of Art. I studied visual art and psychotherapy - not to get the degree which I didn’t get but to understand myself when my youngest son had and recovered cancer.

I studied and studied : did my year 12 two extra times, I worked as a carer in the community which I loved and could get my son to hospital easily.

did about two or three cert 4s workplace and training, community work cert 111,

advance cert 4 in art cert 111 in art.
when I turned 53 I came home crying from a manual handling day. I said to my husband I’m going to murder the next 18 year old how to treat elderly people so he said to quit and I did.

@SaltwaterSoul, it sounds like it's been an exciting and big period of time for you as you transition towards re entering the work force after some time, know that all your sane forum friends are here to support you on this journey ahead.

That trip to the beach sounds so wonderful. I also feel very calm and grounded at the beach, it's like you can forget about everything and just focus on the ocean and the sun and sand 😊

I hope with time your sleep will improve 🤞 I find once you re establish a bit of a routine it always seems to help 😊

Speaking of which, I must head off to bed, I need my 8.5 hrs to work my reduced shifts again whilst I restablish my self 😊

I am only doing one unit per semester this year as well. I need to do mathematics and I don’t remember how to do any of that so I am just going to do those units to start. Maybe I will try full time next year.

Dinner looked great @PeppyPatti ! I had a Greek salad chicken and chips would have been good but had rice. Maybe chips tonight for me 😋

@SaltwaterSoul, yessss I love your connection to the beach! I learnt to swim in the ocean didn’t have pools around us when I was little, so learning in the ocean it was! I love the beach 🤩☀️, I’ll post a couple of pics for you later got to bounce soon but should be on a bit later 😊

I definitely agree with everything you said, the small highlights really do matter!! Yesterday a big highlight for me was getting some laundry done and also went for a walk around the lake and saw a cool jumping spider while I was admiring (I think) vacant birds nest! I wonder what your highlight is today? Mine has to be sleeping in and cuddles with my 🐶🐾☺️ so far 😊

@SaltwaterSoul I am currently studying a cert 3 in Business - Records & Information Management. My highlight is that I finally submitted my well overdue assessment amendment. I had already submitted it but it was returned to me and I have been struggling to get it done.
I also studied at WAAPA doing sound engineering many moons ago 🙂

@heartathome I know it is ridiculous! I remember when it used to be $6.50 per car. I know they have to upkeep the facilities but it's getting too expensive to visit with any regularity.

There are other places around that are free, some beautiful areas but it is too hot to be travelling and walking at the moment. I just keep praying I will get my inheritance soon so I can pay for membership at the aquatic centre, that I can walk to!

@SaltwaterSoul your description of your time at the beach sounds absolutely amazing. It conjures for me beautiful crystal clear tropical waters with lots of fish swimming around. That would make anyone happy xo
