What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.


To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

I could never get a deposit together let alone get a mortgage working casual @GezzaP and when I did, was way too picky, should have bought anything. oh well. yes Plympton is a huge area. Was in Murdoch ave. was bus stop 2 buses 100m away,deli few hundred metres , BiLo about a km

@GezzaP I’m sorry she’s bullied and tried to control your life. I can understand missing her too as you’ve also had some good times too. My sister stopped talking to me. Just cut me off due to being someone with multiple disabilities. I think she found my disabilities overwhelming despite never having to do any caring whatsoever. I helped her a lot because I love her so much. It’s really hurt me a lot as we were close too and aside from my daughter she’s my only family. After your post today I actually sent her a heartfelt message. I’m hoping so much she responds in a loving way.

I just quickly took my fur baby for a walk between the rain. We’ve just started getting gale force winds too. Looks like a storm is about to hit.

We had a storm last night and it was windy last night and this morning and wet too. Too cold for me to garden. I retreated indoors and had a lazy day. Just had a snooze. Not supposed to sleep in the day time but just nodded off. Will take extra meds tonight as going out tomorrow afternoon.

I worked at a uni so I was able to afford a mortgage and pay it off. @TAB I lived in south Plympton. Can’t recall what street was years ago. Was near a servo on Marion Rd. That’s all I can remember.

Going out to friend’s place tomorrow afternoon. We will speak Spanish. I have been naughty today because I had a snooze which I’m not supposed to.

@heartathome My favourite thing has also been in forums and joining recovery club meetings today.

I am still tapering off the antidepressant so feeling very yuck and wishing hoping wanting to get better.

@Chasingsunsets the quality of your bird pics are always so amazing!! i tried taking some last week of some Galahs and it was so pixelated when i zoomed 😆

it was a warm one for me too today!

I love everyone’s highlights!! @AlwaysMyself enjoy your time off!!


My highlight today is going for a morning walk with Indi! My PT cancelled but the walk was amazing!!
Only this year have I been able to get up at reasonable times in the morning- I never knew birds were so active in the mornings!! I did start morning walks a few months ago and loved them but stopped over the last couple of months. Today was awesome got to get back into the morning walks!!

@heartathome hey sweetheart had a great day with support worker bought dress gave it to daughter as early christmas present. then eldest came over had a linner. lovely seeing 2 of my children. also spoke to my best friend which is always a wonderful thing. xxx

Hi @heartathome . My highlight was a good appt with psychologist this morning. The other highlight was an afternoon nap even though I’m supposed to try to stay awake during the day time. I was just so tired.

Will take extra sleepy meds tonight as going to friend’s place tomorrow afternoon and don’t want to be tired. Looking forward to that visit. I got her a box of succulent cuttings . She is lending me novels and stories in Spanish. We will speak Spanish. Hope not to be too late though as I get so tired by about 4pm.
