What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

@Mustang67 Hello 🙂 How are you? I’m very happy to hear you found a coin at a decent price compared to what it’s actually worth! Have you been collecting coins for long?

Hello wonderful @Chasingsunsets!

Sorry for my delay. 🫶

Your coffee frappe from the other day sounds SO yum.

Bless - what a perfect day for Indi!! hehe

oooh nice! What brand did you go for?? I just bought a new pair too. I don't really like the look of them, they are purely functional. 😂

So exciting! How are you finding your training sessions?

I am doing well, I had a very busy weekend. I did some performing things and also went to an electronic gig, which was soooo fun! I worked at my second job too and trying to get started on an essay for uni (it's my first one after many years off study, so I am procrastinating HARD).

How are you today? ✨

@GezzaP I hope by getting the battery it saves you heaps on your electricity costs.

What sort of seeds are you planting?

I used to have a little vegetable garden at one of my houses. I really enjoyed being able to plant something and watching it grow into something I could eat. Back in the day, my partner at the time, we built a house and designed the garden ourselves. It was very rewarding to see everything bloom.

Because of my major depression over the years, I have spent a lot of time in bed, shutting myself out from the world. This has caused weakness in my body, especially my back. So now I am in pain as soon as I exert myself. But I will be seeing a new Physiotherapist soon, where I will start the process of strengthening my muscles, so I can get my life back. Besides that, I am physically well. Thanks for asking.

I hope your planting goes well and you enjoy the time 🌻🌷🪴

@Mustang67 I have veggie seeds - about 8 different ones and also tree fern spores. Need some potting mix for tree ferns. Will plant over the weekend and next week.

Still got lots of weeds to deal with. I get rid of them by pouring boiling water on them. This is better than poison and it works well. Just have to make sure we’re having a few sunny days for it to work.

We just had a thunderstorm and a shower here.

@Cuddlebear I have been collecting for about 3 years now. It all started when I saw something on the news about how there could be coins in the change that you get, that could be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. So I started looking into it. After some research, I found that people do what they call noodling. Which is where they will withdraw hundreds or sometimes even thousands of dollars from the bank in coin rolls. They then open the rolls and look through them for coins of a low mintage or coins that contain errors or are coloured. Most coloured $2 coins have a mintage of around $2 million, which is considered a low mintage and worth holding on to, as other collectors will pay more than face value to have a coin of good quality in their collection. So there is money to be made, if it is something that your interested in. But the banks have become more and more difficult about the everyday person withdrawing rolls of coins from the banks. And over the last six months or so, banks have actually closed people's bank accounts because of the noodling they are doing. My bank refused to provide me with coin rolls, because I was not a business, so I asked for coins in a bag, and I could only withdraw $50 per day. So I gave up on the idea of noodling and just wanted to try and concentrate on trying to find a coin from each year one was minted for each denomination in my change.

Then I was introduced to someone that was right into collecting coins, and the rest is history. She told me about the coin dips you can be part off, to possibility win coins for a fraction of their normal costs. And I have won some great coins that I normally wouldn't buy, as they were too expensive for my budget. And she also introduced me to silver and gold coins. Which is where my interests now lies. The coin collecting community are a great bunch of people that are willing to help with any questions. This has really helped my mental health over the years and has got me communicating with people again. So you could say it has been part of my therapy.

But recently I knew something was wrong with me, as I would order coins, but when they arrived, I couldn't be bothered opening them and sometimes it would be a month before I felt up to opening them.

That's when I found out that my medication had been discontinued and the pharmacist had changed my medication to the generic brand without telling me. So ever since, I have been trying to find a medication that worked as well as the brand named was working. And it has and still is a long process.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this 😊 and I hope it finds you well.

@GezzaP I used to do the boiling water trick on the weeds that came up in between the papers and were not easy to remove.

I spent the last hour or so listening to the thunder. I love thunder ⛈️ storms, as long as I am inside. Lol

Yes @Mustang67 boiling water is the perfect solution for weeds between pavers. I like thunderstorms too. It was very warm here today until the storm came in a couple of hours ago.
I have to say that after some initial discomfort the Chinese acupuncture and massage has worked really well.
