Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I'm holding up but super drained, still have lingering depressive symptoms. I went for a walk earlier today since it is so warm today, I am intolerant to heat and get lightheaded.

Sounds like today has been a rough one for you. Being hypomanic and down can occur at the same time. I hope things start looking up for you ❤️

I hate the heat @creative_writer . Warm today. Hot in the sun. I missed my walk today but did some extra yoga and my physio exercises. It was a tough day. I apologised to my helper for being irritable and finicky over the jobs he was doing. He was ok with it and we had a drink when he was finished. We planned a get together on or around Xmas so that will be nice.

It’s going to be hot tomorrow yuck. I will try to take an early walk if it’s not too warm early.

Hope your day is ok for you.

@GezzaP a get together sounds lovely. Hypomania can definitely make you irritable. Often people think if you're manic you feel great, but sometimes it comes out as more irritability. I've certainly have had hypomanic states where I felt amazing, but I've had irritable ones, you also know how I'm super prone to mixed states.

I had my walk, performed some prayers, watched some TV, reached out to a helpline because trauma has been weighing heavy on me, it's hard to sit with what I've just processed.

Oh I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble @creative_writer .

I’m pleased my helper was understanding but I’m sure I annoyed him. I just nodded of for 15 minutes or so. I got up very early today, A bit worried I won’t sleep tonight as it’s going to be warm. Might have to put air on or fan with just a sheet, but my house is quite cool still.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I know these are thoughts, but it feels so overwhelming. OCD contamination thoughts are loud. I'm just trying to cope with it the best I can, but it's not enough to silence the thoughts.

I hope you are able to sleep well tonight. I'm going to record my sleep tonight to get a sense of my sleep quality. I hope the house remains cool, it feels warm here at home, but my room is cooler since I don't get direct sunlight

My bedroom gets a bit of morning sun but I have both shutters closed @creative_writer . Another early night for me.

Hope things settle for you.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I hope you are able to fall asleep easily. What are you going to do to wind down?

I still feel the body sensations after all these years. I know nothing is happening in my body right now, but I am taken back and I panic

Re: Feeling caged up

Does one have to learn to live with flashbacks or will they also go away?

Re: Feeling caged up

SI comes up for me, but I’m safe. But it’s torture to have to relive it over and over again. I often cope by detaching from my body, but it’s not sustainable. I want it to get easier. I’m coping the best I can but there isn’t anything else I can do

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer I can relate to panic attacks. I get them. Hope you are better this morning.

I watched tv to wind down. Fell asleep in arm chair ha ha so no trouble falling asleep. But I left the air conditioner on overnight. Woke up early. Already been for a walk, watered garden and did my yoga and exercises. Nothing planned for today, Just do my Spanish lessons. Should vacuum and dust but it’s too hot.
