Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Hello @creative_writer @GezzaP 🫶

How are you both feeling today?

@creative_writer, I get morning fog and sleepiness mostly... is your sleepiness mainly in the afternoon?

And I think that's a good idea, keep listening to what your body needs where you can.

I am so, so glad that your spirituality kept you safe. Maybe we can redirect to prayer in your more heightened moments?

Realising painful things must be a lot to a process... will you be able to talk about it more in therapy? 💖

@AuntGlow I’m a bit sleepy as I woke up early again. Trying to read but it’s hard to concentrate as I’m restless and sleepy. The heat makes me sleepy too, but my house is cool so far. I’m feeling a bit down atm. Did walk and watered this morning. Annoyed at myself for buying too much junk when I was hypomanic. I hate myself for that terrible tendency.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I took a walk this morning before it got warmer. My mornings are usually better, it's the afternoons and evenings that get rough.

Sounds like you've had a positive start to the day with yoga and exercise. I hope your Spanish lessons go well. Sometimes it is okay to take it easy, especially when it's so warm.

I've bought a lot of stuff lately too, some of it could've waited, but it's too late now.

@AuntGlow I get sleepiness and brain fog in the morning, but it's worse later in the day. Re-directing to prayer always helps. Processing is hard, I do intend to bring it up during my next psych appointment.

Re: Feeling caged up

Doing the yoga and exercises is good for my back @creative_writer , but getting motivated to do it is hard. I have to do it early or I don’t do it. I walked very early this morning before it got light. I don’t go far and I’m very slow. I don’t have good balance anymore. I watered the garden early too.

It is overcast and humid here today as well as hot. It was sunny earlier. My house is still cool. Will probably have to turn on cooling later if it doesn’t cool down.

Feeling a bit low. Hope you slept better and feel a bit kinder with yourself today.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP finding motivation can be super hard, doing yoga and exercises is a big achievement. A early walk is also a bonus.

My house is warm today, we've had sunshine today.

I've been sleeping okay, maybe more on the higher side. Depression can be really stubborn and I also have OCD thoughts related to trauma, can't help but get thoughts about why it was my fault and how I'm too damaged now. I know the thoughts aren't accurate, but doesn't stop my mind from believing it. I hope your mood lifts soon💖

Re: Feeling caged up

My house is ok @creative_writer . It has become cloudy here. Even though I don’t like the dark I have the house closed up. I put in a small skylight over my armchair to offer a little light. I’m watching the cricket now. Managed to focus to read for an hour. My kindle then needed recharging. I keep forgetting to put it on charge overnight.

I will have a light dinner. May leave air on if it doesn’t cool down overnight. Sorryvto hear you are struggling with OCD and trauma.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP what are you having for dinner.

It is hard, the thoughts get overwhelming and it's really hard to sit with it, so I get SI (I'm safe). I still feel the discomfort in my body years later. I want to be able to find a way around it, and I'll try with self care, but it doesn't feel enough. I still feel awful.

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer I will have ham, cheese, gherkins and pickled onions and maybe some crackers, Might try some bone broth I’ve got too to see if I like it. I had pasta at lunch time. I know it’s not so healthy but I’m too unmotivated to make anything else - I know I should eat more veggies.

Glad you are safe maybe try prayer.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaPI hope you enjoy your dinner. Sometimes we can only do the best we can, feeding yourself can be a big achievement when things feel rough.
