The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular
@GezzaP 8 hours is great. I hope you gut symptoms ease up.
I barely slept last night, so I’m feeling super agitated. Probably withdrawal from med lowered dose. Hopefully the more intense SI this morning (I’m safe) eases with time

@creative_writer Gut settled. Electrician came on time at 7.30am was here less than an hour. Walked up chemist and shop, watered garden and emptied compost. Assume helper not coming as I haven’t heard from him this morning. Trying to muster motivation to open some parcels. Can’t be bothered atm lack the energy.
Sorry to hear you didn’t sleep well hope you improve.

Re: Feeling caged up
@GezzaP sounds like you’ve managed to get quite a bit done despite being tired. Do you have much planned for the rest of the day?
I guess the withdrawal is expected, it only hit me more since I’ve lowered the dose more yesterday (as per pdoc instructions). It’s left me feeling unsettled, but I guess I need to give it time and stay safe. My mind has been drifting off to places because the pain just feels too much. I’m not even sure what to do with the excess energy. I’m depressed but now I have too much energy. In a way the SI keeps my mind off trauma memories and body sensations to some extent, doesn’t get rid of them completely. I carry too much shame.

Re: Feeling caged up
@creative_writer After a brief break I opened the parcels they were just useless crap I bought when I was badly hypomanic - I do that sadly. I should get rid of my credit card but some things are paid for on it so I need it. Maybe I should lower my limit. That would be wise, but I’m not always wise ha ha.
Shame is a heavy burden to carry. What you need is a good sleep maybe a brief nap. Depression sucks doesn’t it? I remember what it’s like.

Re: Feeling caged up
@GezzaP hypomania does that. It can help to set an upper limits.
I am feeling rather impulsive right now. Will probably end up buying things I don't need. The thing is I'm depressed but my energy levels are too high, I am agitated. My mind is racing, not sure if I could even take a nap. Slowing down feels impossible, I know I should rest with a heavy head but I don't see that happening. I actually have the energy to be self-destructive now, so staying safe is going to be harder. It amazing what one night of barely any sleep can do

Gosh, that sounds like a lot @GezzaP.
You are allowed to be irritable! Do you have any therapy appointments coming up? 💛

Re: Feeling caged up
Try reading or watching a video recording that might send you to snooze mode @creative_writer . That works for me.
I was away having lunch and doing Spanish lessons. Talked briefly to neighbour. She was putting Xmas decorations on her front door for her grandchildren.
I’m feeling sleepy now after reading a couple of pages of a story in Spanish.)
Hang in there.

Re: Feeling caged up
No therapy for a while @AuntGlow . Psycho is having paternity leave plus there’s Xmas coming up. Psychiatrist will probably call again before Xmas. Got a script from her in the mail today - will fill soon.
Haven’t done exercises today as had an electrician come early to install wired in smoke alarm. Another bill to pay they’re endless. Got 3 to pay this fortnight.
Helper didn’t come today. Was awake in pain most of the night apparently.

Re: Feeling caged up
@GezzaP I’ll see if there is anything that can help me sleep. I’ve always struggled napping, I gave up sleeping during the day when I was really young.
Being tired and wired is hard. I’ve just bought some things, might buy some more things. I know it’s not great for my wallet, but it takes the pain away for a while.
I have this poem saved on my phone, I know I should get rid of it, but I keep it just in case. It gives me comfort for the wrong reasons. Why do I keep it? Why do I think about ways to self-destruct. I may not be to the point of self-destruction, but the fantasies are there
