Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

I really, really hear you. @creative_writer

I have felt this way so many times...

What happens when you allow yourself to safely be where you're at? What does your mind/body ask for most in those moments? 💛

@AuntGlow it’s hard sitting with the intensity even though I know i need to do it. Maybe tonight I need sleep

Slowly, you will get there. For now, sleep sounds like a great idea. 💛 @creative_writer

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer good morning. I had crap for dinner last night. Cracker with cheese, ham and gherkin. Rest of crackers with vegemite. Will have Mexican street food style corn on the cob for lunch today.

Need to buy eggs. Much nicer for walking today. Yesterday I felt dizzy on my walk - had to stop a couple of times. It was too hot even at 7.30am.

Puss is sitting on my lap making me hot. Have to take jumper off again. Had to push her off.

I assume you are asleep like an ordinary person unlike me. I’m checking emails and facebook and will do some Spanish lessons. Then do physio exercises.

Re: Feeling caged up

@AuntGlow my mum has intense separation anxiety and finds it hard to let go of her adult children. I picked up a lot of anxieties from her. Her separation anxiety can feel so suffocating, I hope she knows that her children wouldn’t abandon her. But I can’t help but to look for exits because I don’t want to be suffocated.

@GezzaP I hope you were able to get some snooze in. Did you get up to much today?

Re: Feeling caged up

I snoozed in the morning for half an hour @creative_writer . So hoping to sleep well tonight. Nice and cool in my bedroom and cool tomorrow when I have to walk in the afternoon. I would prefer to go out earlier in the day but my friend is a night owl and won’t come out earlier.

Got a tradie coming to do a quote for a new security door on front. See how much he quotes.

My mother was suffocating so I understand how you feel.

Didn’t do much today. Made a potato salad, walked to shop. Read a novel.

@GezzaP I go for my walks in the afternoon, I find it can help afternoon crashes. I do my actual workouts earlier in the day, they take more energy out of me.

I hope the tradie comes on time and it is a smooth experience for you.

I think my mum has fear of abandonment, but I feel like it’s my role to not trigger it. I’m sure I do trigger it at times, but I can’t help but to push back. I don’t tell her everything. Don’t get me wrong, I do love her, but sometimes loving someone is hard.

Sometimes we need a quiet day.

@creative_writer Tradie rang to ask if he could come at 1.20pm today but I had a psychiatrist appt then so I said no not convenient. He can come tomorrow as arranged just last week. I’m getting ready for bed. Bedroom a bit warm. Will put ceiling fan on.

I generally don’t like walking in the afternoon sun as to warm for me and I really crash. Will struggle to stay long at pub with friend tomorrow.

@GezzaP I had a pdoc today too, he thinks reducing meds might work.

Oh right, you’re in SA. We haven’t had much warm days in Melbourne yet. It’s been warm for two days but it’ll be back to cooler weather. I try to go for walks when it is under 25c

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer morning! My pdoc wants me to come off sleep meds but I resist because I know that I would have trouble getting to sleep without them. I sleep bad enough with them let alone without them. Got down to 1mg but currently back up to 2mg.

Yes I’m in Adelaide. Nice and cool here today with possible morning showers clearing. Can’t hear any rain atm. Can be very hot here in Summer/Autumn. I remember one time it was 47! and the so called minimum was 32. Didn’t sleep much that night.
