Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I’ve done a few things, but my mood isn’t lifting up. Not sure how it’s going to lift at this point.

What did you have for lunch?

I had a cheese and gherkin sandwich @creative_writer . Will have lasagne for dinner. Going to have a mince pie right now as getting hungry.

Had to take a pain killer for a head ache. That’s my back complaining cause of all the walking I did this morning.

@GezzaP I’ll try my best, mood is off right now. Just don’t feel like being here, it’s just thoughts, so I’m safe. Not sure what I’m supposed to do to make it better. I’ve already tried self care.

Re: Feeling caged up

If I were my psychiatrist @creative_writer , I’d say get out of your house a bit more. Go to cafe or something like that.

Just stop isolating yourself with your SI. Go to the supermarket then grab a drink and a snack in a cafe afterwards. Go in the morning when you are feeling better.

Do you have any friends? A sibling? A counsellor? Maybe you have parents (I don’t have parents and my only sibling is not talking to me, but I have a few friends).

I’m going out next Weds with a friend. And my helper will probably come next week some time too. I have plenty of jobs for him.

Also got electrician coming to install a wired in smoke alarm next week as well as screen door tradie to do a quote for security door coming next week as well.

That’s all I can think of to suggest @creative_writer . What do you think @tyme ?

@GezzaP I do go for walks. I prefer nature over shoppings centres, they don’t work for my sensory issues.

I don’t live alone, I have family around. I barely have friends, there is only one friend I can talk to about my mental health. My friend is overseas right now.

I don’t like shopping centres much either, but I go when I have to go @creative_writer .

I don’t have family so I have to go out. I would suggest you walk whenever you get SI. You don’t have to go far. It might help.

Does your family eat the same food as you? Do you have to do all the cooking? Do they help?

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I can’t realistically walk every single time I get SI, I get SI throughout the day. I’ll try to stay active with workouts and walks, and I’ll try self care but I can’t seem to get things to settle. Not sure what else I’m supposed to do to make it go away. I just don’t like my life being this way. I thought I had the SI under control but it is feeling out of control (I’m safe).

I have my own meals, my gut is pretty sensitive, I’m eating whatever I can tolerate. I can’t openly talk to my family about mental health, even if I have people around I am keeping it to myself.
