Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP sounds like you have quite a few things to do tomorrow.

I don’t have much planned for tomorrow, I’ve got some meal prep and the water will be out for a few hours since they’re doing some work in my area. Will try to get a workout in, a shower and wash some clothes once the water is back.

I’m contemplating on whether to get off one of my meds or go on a really low dose. Might help with ADHD symptoms, but I guess I’ll need to think of something for bipolar.

Waiting for the moment things get easier

Heya @creative_writer ,

Good to see you.

Waiting for things to get better? Will they on their own? What needs to happen in the space of waiting and happening?

I'm interested to hear your thoughts 🙂

@tyme I've been feeling worse for a week, something has shifted. Listening to dark music, not sure if it's helping or hurting or both.

I'm burnt out and fed up. Things have been so bad, I ended up lowering one of my meds myself, even though it's meant to be done under medical supervision. But I was wondering whether a lower dose would take the edge off SI, because I am flat out depressed and exhausted . Staying safe is hard enough already, I am staying safe but it is exhausting

Re: Feeling caged up

It definitely very natural to have these thoughts and questions when things are feeling crappy @creative_writer . You know our script, "Speak to your prescribing doctor".

Whilst meds can definitely impact what you are experiencing, can you think of anything non-medical that you can do to help you feel better? I read that you can listened to music. What else can you try?

Re: Feeling caged up

@tyme if a meds is potentially making you more depressed, that’s a red flag in itself. I shouldn’t be this depressed. I may be safe, but SI only really comes if I’m really struggling.

Self care is great-prayer, grounding, breathing exercises, writing, self talk, exercise but I’m melting under the pressure

I ran all my errands and also had my hair cut. @creative_writer I’m exhausted! Had high fibre cereal and tablets when got home. Will have a light lunch directly and a coffee.

Puss banging on door to come in. In a moment she’ll want to go out again. She has a cat door but only uses if I’m not here or I’m asleep. She isn’t allowed out at night.

How are you today?

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP a haircut sounds nice, I need to cut my hair at some points, ends are super dry.

I’m still feeling low today. Managed a workout and shower and I’m washing some clothes. Just very tired right now and foggy.

I haven’t exercised today, but did a lot of walking at shopping centre this morning. @creative_writer Walked about 3kms I reckon. Puffed out. Didn’t water garden today. Will have to do tomorrow as it’s going to be warm here for next few days.

At least you got those things done. Well done you!

I got up in time to shower before leaving for blood test. They had trouble getting a vein. They reckoned I was dehydrated, so afterwards I had a cup of water with my coffee. Was hanging out for a coffee.

Had breakfast, tablets and coffee when I got home. Had a light lunch for me then another coffee.
