Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

I really struggled after school too @creative_writer . The rigidity of school and transitioning to adulthood was a bit of a shock I reckon. I went down hill from there... then for the next 15 years, it was hellish.

@GezzaP I hope she eats something, poor love. Animals are like kids, hard not to worry about them when they’re not well or eating.

@tyme maybe its a ND thing. Structure helps. My ASD and ADHD brain are in conflict with each others, I need structure but also some spontaneity, I don’t know how I function. Being an adult is hard, I don’t know how I would cope with paying bills (thankfully don’t need to do it right now). I seem to be so forgetful and paying attention is super hard. I’m lucky if I remember to do my psych homework thought logging in for days straight, I seem to end up with gaps in between. It’s better than not doing it at all

Re: Feeling caged up

There's so much direct debit stuff now so as long as you set up direct debit, the bills just come out of it @creative_writer For me, from my pay, I just deposit $10 each week to the water company so I never need to pay anymore.

Re: Feeling caged up

@tyme I have direct debit for private health. It also helps when clinics save your details when paying for appointments because more than likely I won’t pay it on time otherwise (I have forgotten to pay on time in the past). I don’t do AfterPay, I know you can set up automatic payments. I rather just pay all in one go so I don’t need to worry about them.

My brain will ultimately start ADHDing because that’s what it does best. It helps if you can make things a bit easier.

Do you have the ND intuition too? Since learning about ND, can’t help but pick up traits in other people

Totally ND @creative_writer

I was always 'different' as a kid, and still am. I'm totally not social out there. My brain is wired so diffferently and I used to hate it... but now, meh? Life goes on and I'm not fussed.

Re: Feeling caged up

@tyme I knew you were ND, even before before you mentioned it for the first time. I totally get what you mean by being the different kid.

I’ve got the intuition of picking up. Have you ever had that happen too? The other day I realised I was vibing with someone because something about her felt ND

Re: Feeling caged up

100% @creative_writer All the time. I see it, feel it, hear it. I look at someone, and I can 'tell'.

I have to say that over the years, I've found what works for me, so I stick to it. e.g. my rigid routines, but up-to-the-minutes schedules, my sensitivity to sounds/smells.

Life wasn't meant to be easy... but I feel I'm on top of things as long as I don't have an instance of ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!

Re: Feeling caged up

@tyme it becomes second nature to see traits in others, including family.

Structure helps, but I struggle to maintain it. I do have some structure to a certain degree but it’s not enough. Rumination takes a huge portion of the day. I wish it didn’t, but
I don’t have it under control yet.

Definitely get super bad sensory overload, all senses are affected.

Puss ate some of her dinner. @creative_writer

I have a list of jobs to do written down so I remember to pay bills and I have a list if appts and chores to do.

My psychologist got me to fill in a long form last week. He also had me read a couple of documents. He hasn’t got me journalling yet.
It’s supposed to rain 5-10ml today so might have to do indoor tidying instead of gardening. I would prefer to garden. But if it rains that’s good for the garden. Not raining atm. Want to clean kitty litter today.

After going through all my forum emails I will check Facebook, do Spanish lessons and do physio exercises.Back feeling good. Acupuncture and massage worked fantastic.

How you doing?

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP sometimes even with reminders I seem to forget, maybe I need multiple reminders.

Rain can be a bit hard to predict in Australia. I think we are also expecting rain today, but more so tomorrow.

I’ve just had my morning cuppa, need to put some fish on for cooking. I’m not great but not terrible.
