Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP not sure what I need to feel better, I feel stuck. I wish I knew what to do so I could move on. They say time heals, but why does it still hurt? If only I could bury it and be done with it. It's exhausting constantly having to carry it. It's also been so long, so why am I not over it?

I hope you are able to grab something to eat.

Of course, I understand @creative_writer. It sounds like your bodily sensations are feeling rather heightened at the moment... it really can be hard to talk about, can't it?

What do you imagine would happen if you confided in her? 💛

@creative_writer I ate bolognese and a kiwi fruit feel much better now. Had some banana bread too got 1 piece left for tomorrow.

I don’t know how to resolve your problems but do know that I feel for you.

I’m looking forward to seeing my Argentine friend tomorrow afternoon although I hope I’m not too late coming home as I hate driving in traffic and the road I have to drive on is particularly busy during peak hour. We will speak Spanish. Good practice for me.

@AuntGlow I’m scared of how she will react and I’m ashamed of how I’m feeling in my body. I guess I could start off slow. I’m noticing this shameful feeling is translating to poor body image and feeling of disgust with my body. I need to say something, but I guess as much as I feel safe with.

@GezzaP sounds wholesome. I don’t think it’s an issue that can be fixed quickly, it’s been a journey.

I hope you enjoy your outing with your friend tomorrow

Walked up the shop got wet on the way home. Cold snd wet here today so no gardening. Did empty compost and recycling. Walked around garden to see new seeds germinating then retreated inside. Spoke to psychologist this morning went well. Had a lazy day and a snooze. @tyme

Re: Feeling caged up

Hi @tyme a lot is going on in my body and struggling to sit with everything. Just trying to navigate how I can get support in therapy without opening too much. I think I’ve gotten the phrasing, but I won’t mention it on here in case it triggers someone. It’s not super detailed or anything, but might be a good starting point.

How are you doing?

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP whoops I forgot to respond, sorry. Seeing friends can do wonders for your mental wellbeing. Is your friend supportive of your mental health? I have noticed that it is hard to find those friends.
