Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Oh heaters. @creative_writer My place is not that cool. I’ve got shorts on. Puss just came in and is sitting on my lap.

It might rain here in which case I’ll put my indoor plants outside.

Banana bread smells delicious.

@GezzaP you never understand Melbourne.

Do you have much planned for the rest of the day?

Re: Feeling caged up

This is the time of day I tend to fade so I’m relaxing now. @creative_writer Been very active today. Back is really good today. Tried banana bread yummy. I think I’ll have another piece! Just chilling out now. Puss keeping me company.

What about you what are you doing?

If it rains I will get up to put my indoor plants outside. The rain is good for them.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP sometimes we do need to slow down. I tend to feel the most exhausted later in the day.

I’ve just had dinner. Mostly been resting up today. Need to freeze the bone broth concentrate

I start fading around 4pm. @creative_writer

Having peppermint tea and another piece of banana bread. Seems we are both morning people.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I’m definitely a morning person. Pain and moodiness increases later in the day.

Peppermint tea can be so soothing. I don’t drink it often but I love using dry mint in my food

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer I like mint in food too. With roast lamb and with watermelon. I get sleepy around 4pm. I often fall askeep after the news.

I enjoyed my tea and banana bread. I’m full now. Had spuds and green beans for dinner.
Got a painter coming to do a quote tomorrow morning and have another acupuncture session later in the morning. Another painter is coming Tuesday morning. Then got psychologist phone appt Wednesday morning. Tuesday afternoon I’m picking up a couple of boxes of succulents. One for me and one for my Argentine friend who collects them. I also want to look at her novels and short stories in Spanish to see if I want any of them to read.

Re: Feeling caged up

Good evening @creative_writer 🫶

It sounds like you're doing really well and providing such wonderful support for people in need, you should be so proud of yourself.

Do you ever speak to yourself the way you speak to help-seekers? 🤔

And yes! I understand that... that's often when I say, "I am so sorry, the line went a bit fuzzy, could you please repeat that last part again? I want to make sure I am not missing anything!" Or I paraphrase to make sure I at least heard the key points. Calls can be hard though, you're having to interpret so much in such a short period of time with only voice cues - it's definitely something you learn and adapt to.

How did you feel with the dietician?

And I hear you, it's a fine line to balance, isn't it? Are you still going slow? 💖

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP sounds like you have a busy week ahead. I have volunteer work shifts and a GP appointment on Wednesday. I also need to do the ECG before the appointment.

Do you see your Argentine friend often? Books can be comforting.

@AuntGlow I can’t speak to myself the way I speak to help seekers. I don’t think I’m there yet. I do try to paraphrase and reflect back. I do feel the pressurise to get it right, but I know we are all human and it’s hard over the phone.

Dietician was lovely. She made some minor adjustments which I have made. It’s been scary, I’ve gotten used to eating a certain way. It feels easier to just give in, but I know the more I give in, the harder it’ll get

Re: Feeling caged up

I’m in regular contact with my Argentine friend on Facebook. @creative_writer I see her in person every few months. She lives close by. She writes micro fiction stories. They’re one to two paragraphs long so she’s busy doing that. She goes out more than me and travels quite frequently. Would like to see her more often if possible.

Sounds like you did well with your dietician. That’s good.
