Our Dream Trip

Our Dream Trip

@Glisten @AlwaysMyself

I created this thread so we can talk about our dream trip, but if you'd prefer just to chat on already established threads that's cool too.

Father gave me this piece of advice when I was about 15 so I'm not sure that Steve Tyler was the first to say it 😋

Re: Our Dream Trip

@Former-Member I think I would have had a mini stroke! Ah farm life!

My uncle was a wool classer and when my cousins were grown my aunt would go with him. One year mum worked as the shearers' cook for one of the stations and the owners had a horse who was very inquisitive. He'd stick his head in through the kitchen window to see what mum was cooking, scrape off the bbq plate and one day he was looking a bit dozy. Turns out he'd chewed through an extension cord. He was back to poking his head through the window the next day.

In between their laughter, there was comment about me having damaged the bedroom ceiling 🤣

country or farm life not for everyone. Having to drive at least 1hr to get to town with large hospital, one thing that stops me thinking about moving.

@Former-Member bwa ha ha! I can imagine your cousins making smart aleck comments like that!

You are way more logical than me, I hadn't even thought of the distance to medical care and supermarkets when I wished for a cabin in the woods away from the advantages of the city.

Re: Our Dream Trip

@ENKELI Something happened earlier this year that sent me into flight mode.

within couple of hours I had done heaps of research and had worked out the costings to move myself and my 2 cats .

took days for my flight mode to settle and for logic start to kick in. Was then I realised distance to medical facilities, especially my specialist. Also realised to find a place I could manage I would not be able to live in the country, that I’d need to live in places that have larger population than where I currently live.

Re: Our Dream Trip

Where would you like to go, if the weather if appropriate for it, @Former-Member ?

I'm still awaiting my late-Oct holiday. So much happening before then I haven't even looked at it again since I booked everything a few months ago. It will come quite soon though, only abit over a month away. I will likely need to hunt down where some items are since we moved house before the trip, so hopefully I can do that next week or soon after. I will need a good holiday by then lol.

Hey @AuntGlow

Looking at going to Japan in February. Will be a group of us. Just working out who is going to work out flights and accommodation. Hopefully we can get everything organised soon.
