Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Hi

I have been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, social anxiety, and depression.

I saw a trauma psychologist for 10 months twice a week, but she stopped seeing me when my safety became an issue while processing the trauma.

My symptoms are so bad now I isolate myself in the car everyday to avoid triggers and flashbacks. Unable to go to strange places, talk to people. Just don't belong anywhere. Anxiety so bad I shake most of the time, chest pain and hard to breathe... This isn't living......

I'm too damaged to be helped, I have tried but no one will help me..... They just tell me its too complex and they are unable to help. I don't know what do do I have no support isolated, alone and scared....

You are very welcome, there's plenty of room for others to gather round too as I have a very big lounge room.

I'm not surprised you're exhausted. You won't rot in there, they will let you come home sometime - hopefully soon. Then you can return to the cooling calmness of the river, to the heartwarming cuddles of your girls.

Hope for light in the darkness endures...

Kindest regards,

Kristin

@hiddenite
Karen take care as we all have plenty to share...
You are not going to rot in that place because that is not why you are there..
Are you currently involuntary or voluntary? If you are involuntary you can still ask how to see the next on-duty legal aid solicitor when they are next at the hospital.
They can help you to apply for a Revocation of Involuntary Treatment Order..
There is a process to go through, I think you can also ask for an advocate from Legal Aid or VMIAC under the Mental Health Act in Victoria.
If you are voluntary..pause and reflect... You are there to either try new meds or at very least, stabilise your mental health..
Which is what you want to do so you can be the person you are, and be able to live in community again, and hopefully with your girls..
Look at what cards you have been dealt with..you are powering on as you are going to get the helpful help @kristin refers to..it might take some time but you will get there..
Use those strategies that have helped you in the past..breathing exercises. Mantras, vusualisation, whatever works for you..
Hang in there and you know what? Ask the staff there for help.. Ask to speak to the psychiatrist or psychologist or OT..whoever you think will help you..I know it is quite hard to be heard on the unit sometimes..but you know..ask the question...what do I do to get out of here? Hoping someone has an answer around well it is about getting your meds right or finding the right therapy that helps..whatever the hospital advises..make sure they have linked you into a community health service before you leave..as community health services offer one on one support over a period of time..

In the meantime.. Let's join @kristin for a Milo Horlicks and watch the flickering flames over the logs..
