Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Hi

I have been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, social anxiety, and depression.

I saw a trauma psychologist for 10 months twice a week, but she stopped seeing me when my safety became an issue while processing the trauma.

My symptoms are so bad now I isolate myself in the car everyday to avoid triggers and flashbacks. Unable to go to strange places, talk to people. Just don't belong anywhere. Anxiety so bad I shake most of the time, chest pain and hard to breathe... This isn't living......

I'm too damaged to be helped, I have tried but no one will help me..... They just tell me its too complex and they are unable to help. I don't know what do do I have no support isolated, alone and scared....

Hi hiddenite,

It sounds like the hospital staff are being good, keeping a eye on your wellness, and making sure you are getting the right care 🙂

I hope you are slowly feeling better

regards

Kato

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Thanks Kato
it was only because of the support given here that I told them how unwell I felt.
now hooked up to a heart monitor
had that many tests and the staff have been so caring.

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Hi hiddenite,

well that is fantastic news that you have found the strength and support to let the staff know exactly how you are feeling, that is really good news....... well except for the concern with heart monitors etc

I am really proud of you, and i am sure other members are as well with how you are managing and coping through this.

Dear Karen,

I am so pleased to hear you managed to tell them how you were feeling. Well done! That took lots of courage, especially given how overwhelmed you've been.

I am really pleased to hear that the staff are being caring.

I hope that you get some better care and real help now. I hope your heart is ok, it has had a terribly very heavy load to bear.

Kindest regards,

Kristin

Hey Kristin

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Oh, sorry I'm a bit thick! Very sleep deprived, hardly slept last two nights, waking often too.

So it is the acute care ward staff who are being kind and caring?

I am trying to keep it quieter this week. Just my little girl's therapy session yesterday (1hour driving round trip) and mine on Thursday (3 hours driving round trip).

I really need a new (second-hand) car too, but I think I might have to look on the weekend. I just don't think I have the stamina to drive down to Melbourne and back in the middle of the school day.

Take care of you my friend.

Kindest regards,

Kristin

Dear Kristin@,

I love how good you are showing yourself......
You support others while you are under so so much pressure........

Did you know, when things were so so feral for me...I was working fulltime.....my whole life, every part of my life was affected and terribly feral...about when my children were in Primary school, I got golden staffe, when I went to the doctors, they told me it was something else they tried to fix it but a week later..... one Friday night, I toddled into emergency...... My immune system was shot and missed a very important exhibition I was having........

Anyway darling Kristin@ rest have rest. You are so precious and special.

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Anne you must have one heck of an immune system - golden staph is deadly. I am so glad you survived. Often things are misdiagnosed and not treated properly - sometimes the treatment for the "wrong" ailment makes treating the right one harder or less effective. It must have been so disappointing missing your exhibition, but at least you survived.

It is incredible how much we can manage to keep doing until we crash, and then that's it. I have had to learn to slow down so much. I didn't even have a diary for a couple of years (whilst I was going through my divorce). I figured that if ever I missed an appointment then it was an indication that I had too many, and to slow down more. I think if I hadn't worked out that strategy I may have ended up as sick as you got. As it was I had chronic fatigue and my baby was stillborn because of the stress.

So we must take care of ourselves - self-care can be hard work for those of us who weren't taught this when young. But it is worthwhile work, and whilst we are learning our children learn it too. So they can work on other "stuff" than ours.

An attitude I adopted from a friend of a friend: I don't expect my children not to have "stuff" of their own to deal with when they get older. As long as they don't have the same "stuff" as me, because I didn't deal with it, that they've inherited!

Take care of you Anne.

Kind regards,

Kristin
