Tillogram

Hi All

@tyme @AuntGlow @Jynx @rav3n @MJG017 @NightFury @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Appleblossom @Dimity and many others I have accidentally forgotten to tag

Just letting people know I am back safely from my trip.

I had a great trip, my sport event was brilliant and then I travelled a little bit.

Not sure how much engagement I will have with forums as only just returned to this cold weather!

I'm not sure what's been happening, but I hope everyone is well.

Re: Tillogram

Sounds like we are quite similar in that go-go-go aspect lol @Till23

I get lost when I'm not doing something.

I only use smiling mind. I've used others that I've even paid for, but because it doesn't have the science part of it, I don't find them as helpful. I'm someone who needs to know the why before I do something.

It took me a really long time to be able to get into mindfulness. I detested it with a passion in the past. Then I watch The Mindfulness Experiment on BBC. This was when my eyes were opened and I began doing research around it.

Re: Tillogram

Yes @tyme I will only used an evidence based "treatments", although it might be that evidence is only emerging. This is because of my background.

Unfortunately there is huge scope for harm in MH "treatments" and especially because you are dealing with vulnerable people who may not be in a position to reason out things that are being pushed by unqualified people, especially "influencers" whose primary aim is to make a buck not necessarily help people.

Yeah I also watched the Mindfulness experiment

Anyhow, thanks for chatting.

I'll let you get to other threads

I hope you have a good evening

Re: Tillogram

The Mindfulness Experiment really opened my eyes to look into it more. I was adamant that mindfulness was 'stupid' and that I just couldn't do it @Till23

I'm going to start wrapping up anyway. I'll catch you next time you're on!

Hola @Till23 . Guess you've been busy today?

Re: Tillogram

Hi @tyme how are you?.

. Yes I have been busy today.

. Started off early with sport training, doing a lead role again at upcoming national competition, so practising hard.

. Then did some admin stuff for club.

. Then I went bush. It was really fantastic. I did a walk [edited by moderator] in bush but I was doing my photography and climbing around the rocks and stuff so not flat out. Although I did go a bit faster on way back as I wanted to get home before dark!

I'm so glad I did it. It wasn't my country but it is a similiar country and many of the plants and natural features are similar. It is also a saltwater country. It was lovely to hear the crashing waves and see all the wonderful flora and fauna. When I am doing macro-photography it is a bit meditative because you are so focused and waiting for the breeze to drop or the bee to move into the frame etc, you mind is calm, there are no other thoughts. So it was better than smiling mind waves!

I hope your day was good

Re: Tillogram

Sounds lovely @Till23 !. The walk sounds amazing. That's such an incredible trek. I wish I could do that... but I just don't make the time for it.

I will when it gets warmer. I get out a lot when it warmer and the days are longer.

Thank you so much for sharing what you've been up to lately. You sound like you're on the go.

Have a good week!

Just a slight note that I've had to edit out the number of kms so it aligns with guidelines. Feel free to reach out if you want more information about this guideline.

Re: Tillogram

Yes @tyme it was a lovely walk in nature. It was a pretty warm day fro this time of year. When you're walking in the bush though you don't want it to be too warm. Yes, I deliberately made time for it because it was for Dad as he isn't here this father's day. So I was remembering walks with him as I was going.

Of course, the benefts of connecting with nature are well known and evidence based.

Not sure what the evidence base is for not being able to mention distances etc, harks back to the days of not saying suicide - but understand it's currently a protocol.

Hope your day has been good

Re: Tillogram

That sounds so lovely. I'm sure you felt you were in touch with him as you went. Country and going bush is so powerful and healing @Till23

I'm so glad you were able to make time for it.

Do you have your week planned out?

I'm staying over at a friends house tomorrow because she is having a surgery so I'll stay with her overnight so make sure she is okay.

Re: Tillogram

Oh that's very kind of you @tyme and nice for your friend.

I understand how nice that would be, having gone through both my cancer surgeries by myself.

Living by myself I still had to shop, cook, clean etc (I pre-planned as much as possible) even though I couldn't move that well. I was fine after a day or two though, but would have been nice to have someone.

Later this week I am heading off to Queensland for my sport comp next weekend. I am driving so will take a couple of days to get there. So getting house and garden and myself organised for that over next couple of days plus squeezing in volunteering and table tennis.

I put some photos from my walk on the highlights thread.
