Tillogram

Hi All

@tyme @AuntGlow @Jynx @rav3n @MJG017 @NightFury @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Appleblossom @Dimity and many others I have accidentally forgotten to tag

Just letting people know I am back safely from my trip.

I had a great trip, my sport event was brilliant and then I travelled a little bit.

Not sure how much engagement I will have with forums as only just returned to this cold weather!

I'm not sure what's been happening, but I hope everyone is well.

Re: Tillogram

Hello @Till23!

How are you today? Is it sunnier where you are or still raining?

I am glad volunteering went well for you - what did you notice about your thoughts and feelings whilst you were there?

And I am curious to know what other activities you'd like to be exploring!

Ah, yes - life admin. I have been doing a lot of that myself. It's always satisfying ticking things off that list though, isn't it?

Re: Tillogram

Hello @AuntGlow

Maybe you have left for the evening I'm not sure. It is still raining here and set to do so for next week. It's also quite cold.

How is it where you are?

When I'm at volunteering I am pretty much concentrating on the guests, making sure I serve their meals in good time and how they are going with their meals and keeping on top of cleaning up. Then, when I have time, interacting with them as best as I can. I mainly don't think about anything else.

I am good at compartmentalising when I need to, I suppose.

I go to my sport, I have table tennis, I have volunteering. I do other activities weekly or monthly.

I am about to start some lived experience stuff, not sure how much time that will take.

I'm not an interesting person.

I pretty much try to keep myself pretty busy (including physical activity) as a way to manage my MH - I suppose it might be called avoidance.

It is good, if you are able to tick things off your list. I'm glad you are able to do that.

Anyhow thanks for asking after me, even though I know you PSWs are very busy

Re: Tillogram

I am okay @Till23 Been a super busy week but it also flew by. Glad to be home for a couple of days with my fur babies and have time to catch up on work again. I have already been out to get some tests done and do some grocery shopping so now I have the weekend free to do some work and relax in between. I did work late last night and got through a fair bit so if I can do the same today then I can have tomorrow off.

How are you?

Re: Tillogram

Hi @Zoe7

I know what you mean about having time to be at home with your fur babys. I'm glad you have managed to arrange your weekend to allow that.

I really miss my dogs. Somehow I miss them more on cold and rainy days like it is here today. I'm just here by myself now. I used to love walking and doing things with them outside, but I also had the ouside things to distract me.

Sitting here by myself is pretty lonely.

My sport for tomorrow has already been cancelled so I won't see the team and get that exercise and we usually have breakfast afterwards, so won't be doing that either.

I'm lucky where I chop my firewood is out of the weather, if it's not windy, so I chopped some this morning, but now the wind has come up a bit.

I hope you have a restful weekend

Re: Tillogram

I know how hard it would be to be without your fur babies @Till23 I still miss my cat after a couple of years. Fortunately I have Clover who was just a kitten when my other cat passed away so although it was very hard, I still had to show up for her and Tobes.

A bit behind today as to where I wanted to be as I fell asleep for a while. I needed it though as I was falling asleep whist ironing lol At least that is one big job out of the way for the weekend. I was going to mow the backyard but that can wait now until tomorrow. I will do a bit more work soon and then watch the footy tonight. Depending on how tired I am afterwards, I will either do some more work or get up early to finish it off. I have some appointments this coming week after work so I need to get most done this weekend.

Tobes needs a bath so that will be a tomorrow job also. I have to give him a haircut first and that is always a struggle. He is a squirmy little worm when it comes to a haircut so it often takes a few goes at it. It is best to get him early before his breakfast as I can persuade him better with biscuits - such a spoilt little fluffball 🤪

Re: Tillogram

Hi @Zoe7 sorry, is Tobes a dog?

I am a bit behind here because I have had to move some things due to the weather. Water is now half way up my front step and it's still raining and thundering now.

We are on floodwatch.

At least you have your ironing done - I am fortunately up to date with mine.

Sounded like you needed the rest.

I will need to be alert here while this storm is happening

I don't have an underwater lawn mower 😂. So won't be mowing the lawn for a while.

Yes washing my dogs was always an epic adventure, but once washed they seemed to have enjoyed it. They both would go into water in a river/creek at the beach in a puddle - but wash them - oh no!

Mine didn't require hair cutting but my boy's nails were an absolute nightmare - he hated it, but I rescued him when he was several months old, so I think he just wasn't used to it. My girl was not happy about it, but you could at least do it without employing special "holds"!

I hope you have a restful evening

Re: Tillogram

You made me giggle with not having an 'underwater lawnmower' @Till23 but know it is also a scary time being on flood watch Hon. I hope it is all okay for you ❤️

Yes Tobes is my dog/shadow/best buddy/my life!!!!!! He doesn't like his nails trimmed either but thankfully most times he lets me. He does occasionally snap at me but I let him know that is not okay and he usually settles down with some pats and hugs (yes he does get away with a lot lol). Both Toby and Clover need constant brushing. It is much easier to brush Tobes after a bath but he hates being brushed around his legs so that gets difficult. Clover just snuggles into me and I usually give up and give her cuddles instead. She is a short hair but has a very thick coat so I do have to get the occasional tuft out.

Managed to get outside for a bit and spray the weeds in the front yard. Hopefully it doesn't rain until tomorrow afternoon to give it a chance to work in. I am still working on the front yard so have a section where the weeds still come up. I am going to tackle that area in the next holidays.

I feel a bit better for getting out in the fresh air for a bit rather than staying inside all day. It is quite cold but the sun is out so that helps. Hopefully tomorrow morning I can head to Bunnings early and then spend the day making a dress up station for the kids at school. I could buy one for them but it will cost me half the price to make it (and I love making things so it will be fun for me also).

Do you have any plans for the week (if the weather clears and the flood stays away of course)?

Re: Tillogram

@Till23 I was just reading that you were on flood watch and the water was getting pretty close. I hope that things are going okay over there?

You made me laugh with the under water lawn mower comment. Ironically, I brought myself a second hand lawn mower just yesterday.

Re: Tillogram

Thanks @Zoe7 what "brand" of dog is Tobes?

I can't plan anything due to weather. I normally go to sport on sunday and then brekfast afterwards with team at a local club.

Trees are down, so I don't know how far I can get anywhere, nothing in my street so far fortunately. If I can get outside it will be cleaning up.

Next week though

I do table tennis on monday normally. I've got volunteering during the week and I have a few big appointments this week. One to organise to hopefully do some lived experience work. Sport training if weather clears and I've got a competition next weekend for which I will have to drive a few hours.

Normally I would get outside everyday, even when I used to work, I would at least walk around my garden and take dogs for short walk everyday with longer walks on days off. Getting into nature is very important for me.
